“Any fans of pork buns should absolutely check this place out if they ever have the pleasure of visiting Auckland. This place has perfected everything that makes up the delicate, fluffy and sweet bun and the savoury, saucy pork interior. The chef's work hard and deserve lots of praise for the dishes and clouds of porky goodness they create. I unfortunately didn't catch the name of the kind girl who served me but her kind smile and service added to the experience of eating at Sunny Town.”

“That was awesome! The place is very unassuming, just squashed in next to a row of shops, and easy to miss. But what an awesome little place! They serve breakfasts starting at $7.50 and lunch. And of course some of the most amazing shakes! Only surpassed by their totally delicious coffee. The gentleman serving the counter is super friendly, and very attentive I will definitely come back again”

“Authentic food, excellent decor, and great service. Sunny Town makes their dumplings fresh and in the open where you can observe. They also have an open kitchen. The food is delicious, with the perfect mix of spices. Definitely order the steamed dumpling, pork or vegetables as both are yummy. The spicy dumplings are not for everyone, but our daughter loved them. We loved the bamboo interior with comfortable seats. The service is prompt and friendly.”

“I popped in this morning while waiting for my car to be serviced down the road - staff uber-fine with me buying a coffee and setting up my laptop for a couple hours to get some study done - the blackboard menu won me over for a toastie as well - 5/5 so far as toasties go. Overall just a nice semi-rural down-to-earth welcoming vibe and I now have a cafe to visit whenever I'm in Waimauku with time to stop by.”

“Some would say the kebab is perfectly portioned here. Great taste and fresh ingredients. Hygyne is an issue. Watching the young guy go from till straight to my kebab without sanitising his hands is concerning. Try at least sanitising your hands b4 touching my food. The owner was lovely. He asked me why I didn't order a combo and quickly said his chips were the best, and he ordered special seasoning that only his store has. He then proceeded to season a chip and gave me a taste test. They were delicious. Next time im here, I'll definitely try out the combo. Passionate and lovely guy. Thank you.”

“Second time in seven days trying this restaurant and I really wish I’d known about it sooner. So far I’ve tried the prawn chow mein, sweet and sour pork, black bean combination on rice, seasonal vegetables with garlic sauce and their wontons. Absolutely no complaints. I’m not even usually that big on Chinese takeaways but the service and amount of meat and vegetables is great, sauce is tasty, portion size is generous, service is outstanding. Wontons have crispy deep fried wrapper and actually have a good serve of meat in them!! Looking forward to my next meal with them to try some more dishes.”

“I stopped by Gourmet Burger and Brew Kitchen for a quick coffee break and had their latte, priced at $5.50. The coffee was decent, smooth, and well-made, though nothing extraordinary. The ambiance was cozy and casual, making it a good spot for a brief stop. While the latte was a bit on the pricier side for its quality, the overall experience was pleasant enough if you're in the area and looking for a comfortable place to relax for a while. Would come back to try their food, but for just coffee, there might be better options nearby.”

“A much higher end Korean BBQ restaurant that is justified as the entire dining experience is top notch. I was afraid there were no tables available as I hadn't booked but I was warmly welcomed on arrival. The restaurant has a beautiful interior, almost like Victorian style with a large and bright kitchen. Their menu has a range of freshly cut meats and food items and they recently have a summer menu consisting of many cold and marinated seafoods. We got two types of meat and from their seasonal menu we got the crab cold noodles and marinated raw prawns. The bonus to this reataurant is that it's charcoal BBQ. Everything was delicious, especially the seasonal menu. While you are cooking and eating, staff are constantly looking after their customers and will help you grill your meat and changing your BBQ rack for you. The crab cold noodles contain an entire marinated crab with spicy noodles (even though I was expecting crab meat) which was a bit difficult to eat but you can always ask staff to give you a pair of those disposal gloves. This place is a real treat and I appreciate such attentive customer service from staff. The price point would be considered on the higher side but is justified with the high quality of customer serivice and food.”
