   I was a regular at this restaurant two years ago and always enjoyed their generous portions and high-quality food. Unfortunately, my recent visit in December 2025 with my family was a letdown. We spent around $135 for three people, ordering two soups, snapper fish, two main dishes, and a juice. While the soups were acceptable despite being light on vegetables and chicken, the main courses were another story. The portions were surprisingly small—not even enough for one person. The snapper was particularly disappointing, appearing thin with very little meat. On the positive side, the service was prompt and attentive, and the restaurant was clean and well-maintained. However, the significant decline in portion sizes and food quality is hard to overlook. It's unfortunate to see a once-favorite spot fall short of what it used to be. Given the price point and reduced quality, I'm hesitant to recommend this restaurant unless they address these issues.

   @theaucklandbuzz (insta and tiktok handle) Follow me for more such reviews We recently dined at Narmthong Thai Restaurant and had a great experience. We ordered Thai red curry, fried tofu with peanut sauce, spring rolls, and another Thai curry. The food was full of authentic flavors—especially the red curry, which was rich and aromatic. The tofu was perfectly crispy and paired so well with the creamy peanut sauce. While the prices were a bit on the higher side, the taste and quality made it worthwhile. A solid spot for Thai food lovers!

   I have been here a few times but never posted a review before. Lovely food. Very tasty and flavourful. Spring rolls, curry puffs, prawn Penang curry, spicy fried rice, pad Thai and steamed rice. Portion size was meh but this is not your regular Chinese takeaway so don’t expect the same. Overall great food and good service

   Not everyday the food looks exactly like the pictures in the menu and not that really matters but it tasted as amazing as it looked. I had the penang curry and golden prawns. The portions were a decent size and value for the price. We went for an early dinner so there wasn't a lot of other people but the atmosphere was relaxed and warm.

   My favourite Thai spot in Auckland. This place has been awesome since the ownership changed, I could eat here at least once a week. The crab fried rice is super delicious and thai beef salad is also a must have. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a yummy local Thai place

   The food here is delicious, really enjoyed it. The flavours were great. Unfortunately there was confusion with pick up time, so my food was only warm when I collected it (spring rolls and bread was cold) and they forgot to put the rice in my order. So the customer service could improve but in terms of food taste, really enjoyed it.

   Visited this place after several years. It was obvious that management had changed. Missed the usual greetings from staff in traditional outfit and the incense fragrance. Had a rocky start with the male manager who refused to accommodate a small special request without even listening to what it was. Told him he was rude and quickly salvaged with an apology. And thanks to waitress called Tip who was very friendly. She served us with kindness and a bright smile on her face. Food was fantastic and have to say it was better than the previous owners. Would have given a 5 start but had to minus one for my initial experience with the manager.
