“Their recliners are amazing. Cinemas are spacious, clean and friendly staff. A pleasure to be always visiting ormiston hoyts”
“I watched Mission: Impossible yesterday at Event Cinemas in Westfield Newmarket, and I’m so glad I did! The experience was fantastic—such a stark contrast to my visit to Hoyts Sylvia Park the day before, which was extremely disappointing. Event Cinemas truly impressed me. The entire place, from the lobby to the theatre itself, was spotless and well-maintained. I was especially impressed that they have staff assigned to clean the cinema after each movie—something that really stood out in terms of care and attention to detail. The staff were also friendly, welcoming, and incredibly patient in answering all of my questions. Their warm attitude really made a difference. I was so pleased with the service that I didn’t hesitate to book tickets on the spot to return this weekend and watch Jurassic Park! Special thanks to the lovely lady who helped me at the counter with my ticket and drink purchase, and to the kind young man who assisted me after the movie when I booked my next visit. Kudos to the entire team at Event Cinemas Westfield Newmarket—you’ve definitely won me over!”
“Where the world begins its day, In the distant South Pacific spray, Lies Aotearoa, green and grand, A sacred and majestic land. From Cape Reinga's northern reach, To Stewart Island's rugged beach, Two islands carved by fire and ice, A paradise of sheer device. The Southern Alps, a spine of snow, Where azure glaciers slowly flow, Reflected deep in mirroring lakes, While Milford Sound its wonder makes. The geothermal heart beats warm, In Rotorua, 'mid the swarm Of boiling mud and steaming vents, A primal power that transcends. The kiwi bird, elusive, shy, Beneath the fern trees watching by. The Māori culture, strong and proud, With haka chanted for the crowd. The coast is lined with golden sand, Washed by the Tasman's restless hand, And waves that crash and softly sigh, Beneath a vast and endless sky. Of sheep on hills and wine in sun, Where ancient forests are outrun Only by rivers rushing free— A land of pure diversity. A spirit wild, a gentle soul, New Zealand makes the heart feel whole.”
“Newly refurbished and it looks like a classical cinema. They also have a burger and shake bar on top of the escalators. What was nice was that they deliver some items (milkshake in my case) to you in the theater. Nice and clean and really comfy seats.”
“I like that Westgate Cinemas offers half price Tuesday tickets, especially since movie prices keep climbing. Most of the time I’m fine waiting for Tuesday instead of paying full price on release day, so it makes going to the movies more affordable and enjoyable. The cinema is always clean, the staff are friendly, and it’s a solid place to catch a film without breaking the bank.”
“Saw Avatar Fire and Ash in 3D yesterday, great movie with really nice visuals. Also forgot to take my phone with me when I left the cinema room, but luckily someone gave it to the cinema staff and it was kept safe until the following day. Not sure how to pass on my thanks to the guy who handed my phone in so if he ever comes across this review, thanks a lot for giving my phone to the staff, you're awesome.”
“the interior is so cool but i kinda got mixed up with the escalators and the stairs were kinda weird for leading into a bunch of different stores like the back of daiso. very spacious area but it feels lonely without a massive amount of people. i hope more ppl will visit this place so i can follow the crowd if i need to get out of the building.”
“This location significantly surpasses Takanini, and its cleanliness consistently meets high standards. If you want better comfortable seating Manukau is the place to go, Takanini is a joke, I'll never go back their it's disgusting, Manukau has always had high standards, and service is high as well.”
“Would reccomend!!! i went last night to watch five nights at freddy’s 2 when it came out!! me and my partner watched the 9:15 screening. movie is 10/10 would watch but the staff was the best part. they were all so nice & kind!! their customer service skills were so amazing made the night even better. to those working on a thursday around 9pm you guys are all fab & would 10/10 recommend you go at this time :) i hope yall get some pay rises!!”
“We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this Event Cinemas location. The big wide screen and the fact that it wasn't crowded made our movie experience even better. We were particularly impressed by the service provided by a gentleman with a beard who worked there, although we didn't catch his name. He went above and beyond to assist us. We visited around 1:40, and he finished his shift at 5pm on sept 19, 2023. We can't express how thankful we are for his exceptional service. It's worth noting that only a few staff members were as accommodating and helpful as he was. We hope you consider hiring more staff members like him in the future.”
“Love this cinema and Robin chooses some great movies, taking the time to introduce them and give some insight into their making. It’s always a treat. Not many places where you get a complimentary cup of tea and a bikkie.”
“Its only taken me over a year to get this review for Amber and Jared, Sorry guys !! I wanted to write something that truly shows how much you both meant to Todd and I on our day. When I was looking for a photographer I wanted a team to support us as I know how much goes into a wedding, I wanted real, raw and beautiful photos and video. I knew that Amber and Jared were who I needed in my life ! They brought their A game and gave us memories that to this day still fill my heart and reduce me to tears. They were like a couple of warriors running around with a ninja like expertise and stealth I hardly new they were there, but I always knew they had our backs. Our photos are priceless, captured with so much heart and talent Our video is beyond what I could imagine and Jared just got who we are perfectly. Thankyou with all the feels, all the heart and all love. You guys are truly the best. xx”
“Laura and Rohan are absolutely fantastic! Having them capture our special day was one of the best decisions we made. They were both incredibly professional, organized, and clear in their communication. They made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera and managed to capture everything—and more—on our big day. We’ve only seen the sneak peek so far, and WOW! We cannot wait to see the rest of the images. From start to finish, the entire process with Laura and Rohan has been absolutely seamless. Even our guests commented on how wonderful they were. Thank you, Laura and Rohan, for not only capturing our day but making it even more amazing!”
“Ash and his team are extremely committed and passionate to bring to life the essence of the occasion. As Co-owner of Allely Estate we not only get to witness their handiwork but we hear from clients their satisfaction of the service and outcome. We also have Ash photograph some of on in house events and they capture every angle and moment without being invasive. We would recommend them, their professionalism and the quality of their work. [Photos of a recent in-house event by Ash and his team].”
“The nostalgic memories of my childhood nice comfy sofas instead of boring movie chairs”
“Great ice creams and excellent coffee in a real china cup. Didn't try the Afghan biscuit but it was only $4 and huge. Great ambience.”

“Great Cinema. Friendly and Professional staff, cozy blankets, comfortable large seats, and good food and drink. Everything you need in the modern cinema experience. I'm Commander Burcher and this is my favourite cinema on the Citadel.”

“This boutique cinema I highly recommend for films from other countries that are insightful and memorable. The Documentary State Organs was official contender for 97th Oscars, and win 42 international accolades. It screened August 2025 at Rialto cinema, Newmarket. Transplant human soul collective theme is "want too much another". It is excruciatingly painful for donors, a lot of the time even more so than donor recipients. Liver organ is "regeneration" which can be controlled by being immersed in the Arts- books, film, music, acting. Kidney organs is "marriage ability" which takes a lot of control to manifest the "same right yoke" (Christian term for marriage husband and wife equality). The book Soulmates by Author Rita Roger's is my number one book to describe what everyone has, that one truest love above all, that no one can replace or understand same way. Next year a German Doctor will find me, as he appears in my dreams vividly this year, repeatedly even astral sex lol. Anyway, so this movie State Organs is a documentary to be taken most seriously. I'm a world-ranking University of Auckland Arts graduate in history and media that included: Grades A for Chinese Contemporary Media Grade B plus for Screening Hong Kong Grade B plus Media Studies Grade B for Health Systems This documentary is powerful, and exposes China's state sanctioned billion dollar transplant industry which is forced organ harvesting and brutal prosecution of Falun Gong spiritual believers. Falun Gong protest on Queen street whilst exercising in Tai Chi groups. Transplant abuse even involves tourism to China for this purpose. In New Zealand, there are complimentary alternative healers that can work alongside a Doctor which is what University taught to avoid terminal diseases/conditions. TCM Chinese acupuncture and masseuse on K Road is one good recommendation, as well as colon care in Morningside with colonic hydrotherapy and naturopaths also available. "Human need to poop" is panda animal soul collective theme, which is China's national animal. There is a Facebook group called Kiwis Against Forced Organ Harvesting's that people can also join. This boutique cinema has comfortable seats, tidy, clean with boutique cafe, good for special occasions of film screenings. Highly recommend.”
“We went to a late movie and was surprised at how clean, quiet and how comfortable the seats were plus you get a little table for your treats in the premium cinema. Was a enjoyable movie night out .”
“Went for the first time yesterday & loved it! The place has such a nice cosy atmosphere. The girls working at the front were also super lovely!! shoutout to Adele & Lexy :) such a gem of a place, will def be back :)”
“I love the nostalgia this cinema brings and recommend to everyone”
“Wow! Had such a fantastic experience with Fun Flicks Cinemas for my daughters 13th birthday. Easy and quick to set up, it was a joy to see my daughter and her friends faces light up when we put on her favourite movie. Will absolutely book again!”
“We are so thankful that we chose One By Infinity to capture our wedding day through both photos and cinematic film. Bhavnesh and Vineet completely understood our specific cultural and religious requirements and captured our special day perfectly. The pre-wedding meetings were an ideal way to convey our wishes. The One By Infinity crew were both polite and friendly and we loved that they made the whole photography experience so much fun. We are absolutely thrilled with the final result of both the cinematic film and wedding photos and have no hesitation in recommending One By Infinity to anyone looking for a talented, imaginative and personable photography team - Saadiyah and Taslim”
