   Last Sunday I watched a Sri Lankan movie in the small theatre 7 or 8 I recon, seats were dusty and not cleaned properly. Surprising event cinemas brought the standard low.

   We always enjoy going to Manukau Event Cinemas. They have a good selection of games to play before and after the movie. Prices are always clear and easy to find, seats are comfy and large. Staff are always friendly and professional. The Cinema is always clean as well as the toilets. Highly recommend. Also the popcorn is always fresh!

   This location significantly surpasses Takanini, and its cleanliness consistently meets high standards. If you want better comfortable seating Manukau is the place to go, Takanini is a joke, I'll never go back their it's disgusting, Manukau has always had high standards, and service is high as well.

   Went to watch a movie and I was shock to see how dirty they keep inside the cinema. It's was truely disgusting. Seats are old I get it it's been around fr quite some time but cleanliness was just poor. I don't think I'll be going there again.

   Event Cinemas Manukau has been a staple in South Auckland for years, and while it still delivers on the core promise of showing all the latest movie releases, it’s clear the cinema has seen better days. The building itself feels quite dated—everything from the carpets to the seating gives off an old-school vibe, and not in a nostalgic way. It’s functional, sure, but lacks the modern polish and sleek design you’ll find at other Event Cinemas locations like Newmarket or Queen Street. The signage is tired, the lighting is dim, and even the foyer area feels a bit neglected. That said, it does have most of the blockbusters and a decent range of session times, which is a big plus for local moviegoers. There’s usually not a huge crowd, so getting tickets is easy and you often have plenty of seat choices. The snack bar offers all the usual cinema treats, though the prices feel steep considering the surroundings haven’t been upgraded in years. The bathrooms and general facilities are serviceable but could really benefit from a refresh. In terms of comfort, the seats are okay but nowhere near as plush or spacious as the recliners in newer Event Cinemas. Don’t expect any luxury options like Gold Class or V-Max here—it’s more of a no-frills, grab-your-popcorn-and-go experience. Staff are generally friendly and helpful, though the overall vibe of the place feels a bit run-down. If you’re nearby and just want to catch a movie without driving into the city, Event Cinemas Manukau does the job. But if you’re looking for a top-tier cinema experience with all the modern bells and whistles, you’re better off heading elsewhere. It’s overdue for a renovation, and until that happens, it’ll remain the go-to by default—not by choice.

   We came today to watch a movie with my son. The staff Jasmeet was so rude . When i asked for the tickets and she told me that child is not allowed in this movie , i understood and told her i will b back so i can call my brother and ask him to pick my son and he said yes . So i went again and told her to give me 3 adult tickets which clearly mean i am not asking for a child ticket . She told me very rudly that i told you child is not allowed , dont change your mind later we cant refund you . I said i know you told me child is not allowed so he ia getting picked by his uncle anyway . She rudly said i am doing my job . No apologise at all . I haven’t seen this type of customer service anywhere . I was thinking to myself why i came here i should have gone to the botany downs and spend my money over there.

   We went there to watch a movie and its been 40 minutes over and the movie has stopped from last 20 minutes and nobody is co ordinating with people inside the house full show. Such a poor experience and making sure we are not visiting this cinemas again.

   The V-max cinema is awesome. The reclining seats are, as the woman in front of us stated out loud, "comfy as"! There are some movies you just have to see on a big screen and this cinema made the experience all the better. Only nag is that tickets are not that affordable.

   The dirtiest cinema ever went to. The staff did not even considered to clean the mess created by the crowd that came before us. Had to clean my own seat and drink holder before enjoying the movie.
