“Lovely homestyle Northern Chinese food. The owner/cook is really warm and friendly. The cooking somehow has a very comforting, homelike feel- like you are at an aunty's house (aunty who is amazing at cooking). Served nice jasmine tea, and ordered spicy fried chicken cartilage (alright, a bit too overcooked but nice flavour), rice dish with tofu and pork and green pepper (the BEST) and mapo tofu. Some of the cheapest eats you'll find. Each dish was about $12.”

“First time diners after recently moving to the area, we had 1 guest who is gluten free. Pre booked and very accommodating for our food allergy diner. The food was amazing, everyone ordered a different dish and each one full of deep flavourful and well balanced. The menu has so many delicious sounding options we will definitely be back time and time again”

“I am only marking 'atmosphere' down because our table of 4 was the only one occupied. We had 4 different meals and all were delicious. This restaurant deserves to be better supported. The decor has recently been revamped and is really nice. The menu is comprehensive and reasonably priced. There is also a BYO option for the budget conscious. I had the Chicken Rogan Josh... superb!”

“Came here for a quick breakfast before browsing the mall. Ordered a french toast and a mocha which both didn't disappoint. The french toast tasted very fresh, flavourful and delicious while the mocha was great. The atmosphere was very welcoming as the worker at the front provided amazing customer service.”

“If you’re after great, authentic and flavourful Indian food, then this is the place. While the ambience and service are nothing to rave about, the food beats it all! Absolutely loved the fish Amritsari, which interestingly and sadly is a rare find in Auckland. The lamb seekh kebab and biryani are fab too. Sure will be back”

“Had dinner at Portofino Takapuna, an authentic Italian restaurant by the beach. I ordered the Prosciutto Pizza and Seafood Risotto—both were absolutely amazing. The pizza was perfectly baked with a thin, crispy base and generous toppings, while the risotto was rich, creamy, and full of fresh seafood flavours. A truly delightful dining experience that captures the taste of Italy right here in Takapuna. Highly recommended!”

“We had a wonderful meal there last night. The views were fantastic, all the wait staff and the hostess were lovely and very helpful. We had someone who was GF and she was well looked after. Everything was made fresh and we couldn’t fault it. The massaman lamb was delicious and the money bags were the best we have eaten. The prices were reasonable too. Will definitely be back!! Thanks for a great night.”

“Ive been here a few times and each brings me back! I love a good Larb Salad, and theirs is very good!!! But the star today was the Chiang Mai noodles. OMG it was amazing. Khao Soi is the actual name for this particular curry, but it comes from northern Thailand, and reminded me of my visit to Chiang Mai, hence the name! I must have this again!!!! Im trying to add a photo, but so far cant....”

“Okay so its time to share the best kept secret in West Auckland. The secret is not just that this legendary long standing Indian restaurant does a $30 buffet on Saturday night, the secret is not that staff are super friendly and its a gorgeous environment the real secret is that they change the items in the buffet regularly! Yes no same old thing each time you can go every week and enjoy your tasty favorites plus try something new. Its fresh and delicious. Hubby highly recommends chicken pakora and the dahl. I know my steak man going for vegetarian option that is how good it is. I recommend the chicken malai. Its only Saturday night from 5:30pm, pay when you go in and make sure you book as its popular for a reason! And sshhh - its a secret remember......”

“Let me tell you this place is amazing in all aspects. The food was delicious we had butter chicken and butter lamb for mains. Mix salad and fries with two garlic naan. Two margaritas were so delightful. Service was excellent patient and friendly. Atmosphere we had chill Indian music was lovely. “First time visitor. We ventured over to Devonport for brunch. Made our choice to try Manuka. I had the rost with smoked salmon and small flat white. The rosti with salmon, poached egg was wonderful. Being from Wellington I sort of smiled when I was asked if I wanted my coffee with a double shot, this is a given in Wellington. Coffee was great. Service professional but friendly.”
