“I’ve been coming to Aunty Mena’s regularly for years and it never disappoints. Their wonton noodle soup is fantastic, the broth is so light, refreshing, and full of flavour, with perfectly cooked noodles, delicious wontons, and plenty of fresh vegetables, It’s a very comforting meal! The crispy fried wontons with a tangy sweet and sour dipping sauce are also really good too! The staff are always so lovely and welcoming, they even remember me and my order every time I come in, which makes it feel extra special. Aunty Mena’s is truly a gem and easily my favourite restaurant ever!”

“Muay bien! A hole in the wall serving the best Mexican in Wellington (and maybe even NZ). Love the delicious soft corn tortillas and that the fillings are all cooked with coconut oil. Perfect takeaways to enjoy a sunny afternoon on the waterfront. Andres the chef who hails from Mexico is an absolute cracker.”

“You look fore something special, this place is special. The location inside the Beehive is superb. The flair is just delightful, and then there is the food. The set menu was very, very nice. The flavors superb, the freshness and the combination of textures first class. This place is a notch better than the Logan Brown where it belongs to. And I do not know if I have found a better place in New Zealand so far. I will come back, for sure.”

“Great vegan indian meal in Wellington! The service was amazing and the lunch deal is just great value for money. I followed the advice of the waiter and ordered Kadai Soya and it was just amazing. The vegan roti could be improved but still tasty. There are some construction works outside but didn't really bother during the meal. Highly recommend it!”

“Found this place near our air bnb. I was so surprised to see its very authentic! They even had agua de horchata which you don’t see much around in restaurants this far from Mexico. The amount of food that comes in a plate is very fair for the price and the flavours are a hit! And the service was more than excellent. Every single person there is welcoming, nice and friendly. I wish I lived here so I could come more often.”

“Will definitely come back again! Came here once because my friend recommended and now has become my favorite restaurant in welly. Staffs were friendly and great atmosphere to hang out with friends or family. The seats were almost filled around 20min after they open. Off street parkings are available around too. Love everything we order, especially the gnocchi with prosciutto! 3 people ordered 4 appetizers and a steak, very filling. Also the bacon marmalades on the bone marrow is yum!!”

“Vegetarians and Vegans rejoice, this place gives you real choice for lunch or dinner. No longer restricted by salads and cooked veges, this place provides burgers, stir frys and proper meals that are filling and most importantly delicious. Within the Press Hall food centre, this place establishes a refreshing alternative to other more regular options in the hall. The service is fast and efficient, the staff are friendly and there is allot of aroha that had gone into the dishes. The Smoky Seitan burger is fantastic with a bean curd based patty that is a great alternative to the usual beef patty. It is also packed with fresh vegetables which makes the burger very satisfying yet not stodgy at all. It's quite possibly my new favourite place for lunch in Wellington and yes I am not vegetarian or vegan. Just "Keep Calm and Eat Plant-Strong".”

“Everything was great!! The staff were nice, the pizza was delicious and cheesy. The sprites were big which was good. We also got lemon cheese cake and cookies & cream gelato which was delicious. The only negative was the waiter staff didn’t ask if we wanted 2nd drinks.”

The staff is exceptionally friendly, and I’m always impressed by their excellent service. Their menu offers a variety of meals that cater to all dietary requirements, and I love that they keep it fresh and seasonal with exciting new options. The design of the shop captures a lovely New York vibe that's unique to Wellington, making each visit a special experience. However, I must address a recent review that was posted under my name. Unfortunately, my account was hacked, and that review was entirely untrue. I sincerely apologize for any confusion it may have caused. Machete Coffee Shop is a place I truly admire, and I can assure you that my experiences there have been nothing but positive. Thank you for all that you do, and I look forward to my next visit!”

“Mushroom quesadilla on a Sunday afternoon - glorious. We ordered then waited on the balcony of Goldings bar with a drink. Whilst it took a bit longer than expected it was well worth the wait! Highly recommend if you're after a Mexi-fix.”

“I loved this restaurant as I’m coming first time to this place. The staff Govu Sundar chef, as well as he was service staff as well. Govu Sundar was extremely good with his cooking skill and serving skills. He was the only one attended us. I strongly recommend this restaurant for everyone out there to experience Authentic taste of Indian food. I have tasted before but this is pure Indian taste. Govu Sundar is the great asset for this restaurant.”

“We had a really beautiful lunch at the Japanese restaurant upstairs here. The food was beautifully presented and the flavours were exquisite - and super fresh! The menu has a good range and the staff were very friendly. The set meals are quite generous. Go hungry or share, which is what we did. 5 stars.”

“I recently tried a prawn curry, and I have to say it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were so well-balanced, with a perfect blend of spices and creamy coconut milk. The prawns were cooked to perfection, tender and juicy in every bite. It's easily one of the best prawn curries I've ever had, and I highly recommend it!”

“Saffron Haveli serves some of the best Indian food in Wellington! The chicken biryani is packed with flavour, and the butter chicken is rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. “Dined here for the first time and it was absolutely delicious! My friend and I got a medium big chicken pizza to share and it was so good! The place was very popular and the counter staff were friendly. Only downside to the experience was when I ordered a lemon meringue cheesecake and it was served to me still frozen so I had to have it takeaway, also we ordered garlic bread but they didn’t have any . Would definitely go back for the pizza though!”

The hotel's fantastic location made exploring the city a breeze. ​From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the beautiful atmosphere and the genuinely friendly, professional staff—especially Ray and Anthony, who were absolutely amazing. ​The food was just as impressive. The weekend high tea was an exceptional experience, with every tea and accompanying food item delicious and the service impeccable. ​Breakfast was a definite highlight. While the buffet was decent, the à la carte menu was sleek and memorable—I'm still dreaming about the egg benedict and the delicious mushroom dish. ​Dinner was just as stunning, thanks to a fantastic salmon dish and the breathtaking night waterfront view. As a seafood lover who usually avoids raw oysters, I was amazed by the one I stole from my friend—it was incredibly fresh, and the vinaigrette was a perfect touch. ​And the experience didn't stop there. The room was spacious and tidy, and I absolutely loved the bathtub. ​I was also pleasantly surprised by the value. Despite ordering a lot to try everything, I didn't find the prices horribly expensive. “Great little venue Booked a table for 5, which was a good idea as it packed out in no time. We were greeted and shown to our table, and our drinks order was taken quickly. Good selection of options and everyone found something they wanted. The food selection catered for everyone also, and after the tough decision of only choosing one thing, we all ordered. The food came out quickly, it was a good temperature, and with good portion sizes. The staff were all very nice and helpful, the venue location is well situated, and the atmosphere was fun. We all agreed we'd be back.”

“Olé is amazing! If you are looking for something more interesting than Asian or Italian- this is your place. The tapas portions are generous and delicious. We had the pomegranate and home made lemonade drinks and they are divine. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and experience, the food is prompt and tasty and the service is excellent. We left full and impressed. We’ve been to Spain and the food at olé is authentic and awesome.”

“We cannot get enough of this place, very well priced too. Always leave full and happy. Only disappointment is that they've removed the cheese dip and corn chip entree which was our favourite. Love the decor and the service is great even when very busy. Have tried a wide range of the meals and have loved every one of them. The margaritas are delicious too. Favourite restaurant by far.”
