This was a real treat with delicious authentic South Indian and Malaysian food. Recommend the Dosai! Our other chosen dish was nasi goreng, loved it. Service friendly and responsive. Location and atmosphere spot on, adds to the dining pleasure. Very good wine list too.

I ordered the samosas although was told they donβt make them inhouse. Umm the reason I am in your restaurant is to try your food not eat frozen factory processed rubbish. The watery sweet Lamb Kuze was bad and the place more Indian than Malaysian. The constant slamming of the entrance door was also damn annoying. Well deserved 1 star for a load of rubbish.

Great little venue Booked a table for 5, which was a good idea as it packed out in no time. We were greeted and shown to our table, and our drinks order was taken quickly. Good selection of options and everyone found something they wanted. The food selection catered for everyone also, and after the tough decision of only choosing one thing, we all ordered. The food came out quickly, it was a good temperature, and with good portion sizes. The staff were all very nice and helpful, the venue location is well situated, and the atmosphere was fun. We all agreed we'd be back.

Definitely big servings. Nasi Goreng was good and can be shared with 3 people max. Just a bit oily for me. Can work for those who love that peanut-based oil.

We went there for dinner... I've been meaning to eat there for ages, but always ended up at another eatery. Just as well they've been around for many many years. I'd been hanging for a masala dosa, and I got it tonight...it was so worth the wait too. Crispy fragrant pancake with spiced filling of potatoes.. with 2 dipping sauces...both adding a refreshing different taste with the dosa. The ambience, and decor was very warm and inviting. Very happy dining experience cheers.

I ordered the curry puffs, Ayam Panggang and steamed rice. The curry puffs were delicious and I inhaled them. A definite will-order-again. But unfortunately the main was a big let down. Ayam Panggang was meant to be grilled chicken pieces. But what I got were dry chunks of breast meat that had absolutely no char, colour or grill marks - I dont think they were grilled like described on the menu. The peanut sauce in the Ayam Panggang looked and tasted watered down and did not help nor save the dish. There was very little seasoning - I'm not sure any salt was used at all. A separate small container of peanut sauce was included, I believe as dipping sauce for the curry puffs. Although this peanut sauce was much thicker, it had next to no seasoning as well. And unfortunately there was a distinct burnt taste - I suspect the peanuts were burnt in the cooking process but still used. Overall very disappointed. It feels like a lot of money spent on a dinner that did not deliver. With so many other Asian eateries in Central Wellington, I won't be choosing Rasa again.

The food was great, considering the waiter did not ask how spicy we wanted our meals. He brought out our curries and they were super spicy. We waited on about 5 dishes of rice, which not all of them came, as the waiter was abit confused with orders. Also the wait time in food took 35 to 45 minutes as it was packed. The restaurant itself is very tiny and compact. They only really had one other wait staff running around. Was expecting more Malaysian dishes on the menu, but was more Indian.

One of the three top rated Malaysian restaurant. Decided to give it a try. As a Malaysian, I'll tell you what's all wrong about this restaurant. 1. Rice is sticky. Rice should be the easiest to cook, especially jasmine rice. For rice to be sticky like glutinous rice, what have you done to it? You can't even cook rice properly? Shameful. You fail miserably. Rice is our life. Our staple food. It's sticky, more sticky than my nose booger. You can even stick in at the back of your art for it to stick on the wall. 2.The manager with big belly never greeted us. Just asking if booking was made and busy clearing the table with a sad face. No greetings nothing. No thanks no good byes. There were 2 guys sitting on the table to be cleared, he also didn't alert them that he would clean the table. He just sprayed at the table when they were chatting. Even take away plates without asking if we are done. It's food for your customers. Don't touch them till they ask you too or at least, have the courtesy to ask. This is not the Malaysian hospitality. Please train this manager how to have top class service. 3.Sate is nothing to be compared with the real thing in Malaysia. Not even the peanut sauce. 4.Don't let me start with the curry where I can cook better at home. It was atrocious with cheap nzd 3.79 frozen mixed vegetable that you find in supermarket. Only difference is they put five spoonful of veg. Give me eat for free, I wouldn't even try it . 5.Who makes menu with black background, red color words, to be read under a dim light. Rather just dig out my eyes. This is my first time and last time visiting it. I see many leave good rating here, you all probably haven't tried the real good Malaysian food. What they have was rubbish. The only consolation is the very nice waitress that's at the counter and serving us food. She was courteous and friendly. Overall conclusion. Trash. This is not Malaysian food nor hospitality. Hire me to cook your rice.
