“We have been going to Polo for the last years with good reason. The coffee and kai are consistently delicious and the service friendly, efficient and comfy. Today we were back for a for brekky, when before the first bite our son started being sick and we quickly had to get out of there. Briar and the team were amazing, they quickly pulled together what we needed, no judgements, and kindly packed up what was left of our order. Thank you team.”

“What a hidden gem!! Super tender and crispy chicken and yummy sauces, also very reasonably low price for the portion you get! You can also order online and it only took 5min for my order to be ready :) Just an FYI I got the kimchi bowl which is the only bowl that doesn’t include steamed rice which I didn’t notice.”

“I hope they will go back to the menu they had when they first opened. Their original menu used to serve dishes that I only get to eat from high-end hotels. Not saying they don't serve good food now. Their menu now is completely fine. It maybe the basic set of rice bowls and noodle meals but still very authentic when it comes to taste. Maybe its not viable financially to have exotic Japanese dishes in Kapiti but it would be nice if there was at least 1 dish in the menu that would truly shine. Something that does not try to please everyone and is more loyal to the culture of Japan.”

“I loved our food and experience at Origami in Wellington. We found this Japanese restaurant on TripAdvisor and I am so happy that we went to have dinner there! I highly recommend this place because everything was perfect. The atmosphere is nice, cosy, and modern with cute looking decorations and wall painting. The Japanese staff member was very cute and helpful at recommending dishes and teaching us about Japanese ways of drinking sake. And the food was very delicious! We had Tom Yum and Miso ramens and a dragon roll.”

A table of 6 and everyone was so happy and amazed at there food it was crazy... It was beautiful... The service was awesome and it was all at the table in moments. “Two nights in a row I had dinner here because it was so good. When you enter the restaurant the aroma of the herbs and spices welcome you. Very happy with the delicious food and the excellent service. I ordered more than I needed because the food was really good. They wrapped the left-overs for me so I could take them home. I love the atmosphere and the attention to detail. When you ask for mild food then you will get mild food. The mango lassi is also very tasty. I ate a bit early and they’d put on the Indian songs with dances on the screen, it is like re-visiting India again. A beautiful great and delicious experience :-) I will return for dinner, many more times.”

Roasted potatoes lightly browned, creamy on the inside. The pork belly was also very nicely done, the mash hearty and flavorful. Cabbage provided a nice counter-point. Highly recommended.”
