Swagat India is a popular restaurant known for its delicious Indian food. The food is flavorful, fresh, and well-cooked with authentic Indian spices. Popular dishes like butter chicken, naan, biryani, and paneer curry taste rich and satisfying. The aroma of the food is very inviting, and the presentation is neat. The restaurant has a clean and pleasant atmosphere, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Overall, Swagat India is a great place for enjoying tasty Indian meals with family and friends.

Ordered Butter Chicken from the "High Protein" option on the door-dash app, and Swagat India Brooklyn made me a tomato soup sauce with some milk and turmeric added, the barest of spices, and seven tiny bits of chicken (one was larger than the others). My friend said that I, a Pakeha Italian, could make better butter chicken. A few years ago I complained about the slop that some Indian restaurants were serving as Butter Chicken, but it seems that that's what Kiwis like - sweetened tomato soup dressed up in orange clothing. I once had an amazing butter chicken from an individual, non-chain, restaurant in Takaka made by an Indian dedicated to his craft. I will always remember the texture, the flavours, the spices, and the personal service delivered. The other meal was Chicken Manchurian which was slightly better, but not by much. The Cheese & Garlic Naan was flavourless, and my friend couldn't distinguish the Methi Paratha from the naan.

Two nights in a row I had dinner here because it was so good. When you enter the restaurant the aroma of the herbs and spices welcome you. Very happy with the delicious food and the excellent service. I ordered more than I needed because the food was really good. They wrapped the left-overs for me so I could take them home. I love the atmosphere and the attention to detail. When you ask for mild food then you will get mild food. The mango lassi is also very tasty. I ate a bit early and they’d put on the Indian songs with dances on the screen, it is like re-visiting India again. A beautiful great and delicious experience :-) I will return for dinner, many more times.

The food here is soo outstanding - love the flavours. This used to be our regular date night spot four years ago. We decided to relieve those memories tonight with a meal here and a movie at the penthouse (mission impossible) . We got the Chicken Jalfrezi (hot) and the lamb balti (medium), with garlic and butter naan. Everything was outstanding. Great service from lovely Deep she was the only one on the floor and she was doing an outstanding job serving everyone. Well done Deeep- you deserve a pay rise. It was pretty busy for a Thursday night.

Have to agree, best Indian in Wellington. Beautifully presented too even as a takeaway with lovely garnish. They went to effort to make sure we had meals that were gluten free and vegan for some of the meals, called twice to make sure. Taste was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended.

I ordered four meals and found three were tasty and great. Unfortunately the goat curry was extremely tough and was difficult to eat off the bone. The gravy in which the goat curry was in was tasty and was eaten with the jeera rice. All the goat meat was thrown away. Also the roti was hard which is unusal as rotis should be soft and easy to break.

Delicious Indian meal. Balti chicken and lamb Swagat were superb. Chili cheese naan a standout, was so yum.
