“Love this place, it is most definitely THE BEST address in Island Bay ! Staff is so friendly and lovely, the garden bar is a really cool spot to hang out on a nice day (and dog friendly !) and the gorilla burgers are really yummy. “Great rooftop bar on Lambton Quay (upstairs) We went for lunch, sat out on the balcony and ordered the Korean fried chicken, skin on fries and club sandwiches. The service was fast and friendly, the food was delicious and the balcony had a great view of Lambton Quay.”

“We had a wonderful meal at Istana Malaysia in Wellington. We ordered the beef rendang, nasi goreng, and lamb murtabak, and every dish was delicious—flavorful, well-cooked, and authentic. The owner was also incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend this place for great Malaysian food and warm hospitality!”

“OMG what a delicious dinner! So flavourful and fresh: charred cabbage, crispy potatoes and tomato, a fish main , lamb with onions. Rice and roti to match. Just YUM! “We have been to this cafe so many times. I love the outdoors, it has nice area outside where you can sit and enjoy your drinks and meals. I always feel this place is a bit pricey but still like the vibe of the cafe. Service is okay, there are times when we have to request staff to clean table. Other than that staff are always polite and helpful. I enjoy their milkshakes, coffees are okay.”

“Had the 8-course tasting dinner with wine pairing and it was such a great experience. Every dish was packed with flavour and looked amazing on the plate — you could tell a lot of thought went into the menu. Some combinations really surprised me, like the beetroot carpaccio with macadamia crusted feta, and the smoked eel with caviar — so good! The wines were perfectly matched to each course, starting with a crisp Champagne and ending with a bold Pinotage. It really brought out the flavours of the food. Service was spot on — the team were friendly, easy to talk to, and kept the evening feeling relaxed but still special. We never felt rushed, and everything flowed nicely from one course to the next. Left feeling full, happy, and impressed. Would absolutely recommend this to anyone who enjoys great food, wine, and a memorable night out.”

“First time visiting for lunch on a Thursday & the place was packed. You definitely need to make a reservation & wait to be seated. Once you have your table, you need to get back up into the queue to place your order but the staff are fast & efficient and it doesn’t take too long. Meals came out in good timing considering how busy it was & they were delicious with GF noodle options.”

“Wow had the most amazing delicious meal in a beautiful warm environment. Our server a young Indian man was ever so helpful and attentive to our needs especially for my mum who has a sore back he brought out extra cushions for her comfort. My mum wanted to take me and my son to brunch and I'm so glad we visited this fine establishment in raumati will definitely visit again !we ordered 5 spice braised pork belly mash potatoes veges my son ordered smashed avocado egg beetroot hummus on ciabatta toast my mum has sirloin steak medium rare cooked to perfection, chips and salad”

“Highly recommend. I absolutely loved my breakfast. The omelette was delicious and the butter was served at room temperature so it actually spread on my toast. The service was fast but you weren't rushed. Great chilling music played in the back ground.”

“If you’re after great coffee and a huge variety of cabinet choices, this is the place to be! From sandwiches, to salads, savoury, sweet desserts etc. There is also a menu you can order from and the place is often bustling so best to book if you have a few going.”

“We visited Sea Salt for lunch today, the meals were excellent, served by a charming waitress. The crispy calimari was one of the best I have enjoyed, just the right smount of pepper, and perfectly cooked. Brilliant coffee, served hot too.”

“Just had the best service (and yummy meal, as always). There was a small error in the kitchen with my GF pizza, and it had to be remade. They were so apologetic, and even gave me a free dessert! I was more than happy to wait, and didn't expect anything free, but was so touched by the offer and incredibly impressed by the service. We will definitely be back! I was also very impressed at how careful they were with cross contamination. Would recommend for anyone with allergies, particularly GF, they take them seriously!!”

“The food is very flavoursome, healthy and varied. The service is usually good and was this last time (not very busy). The previous visit was not as good - not enough place settings, even after asking; we had water glasses but no water, until we asked for it; and we seemed to be a blind spot for the waiter. So either that waiter improved or it depends on how busy it is.”

“If you become a member there you can get a discount on food and drink. Atmosphere was pretty chill when i went down but they do usually always have something going on weather it be a band or karaoke etc. Food was on point I had the ribeye steak with all the sides, staff were lovely. Wheelchair accessible kid friendly, they have a small timezone area out in the atrium. Be AWARE you need to be a member or with a member to drink alcohol there but anybody from the public can eat food there. Always a great go to when I need a steak meal”
