   As far as the bursts of taste and flavours go, you succeeded in rekindling my decade old memories of a NYC trip. This first time experience was an all rounded hit with the family for a shared dinning experience to get out and try something new; just a word of heeded warning - definitely allow your pizza that recommended resting time as suggested on your table …!! A well worth experience!

   Melvin was such a kind and pleasant person! It was a very important day for me, and I truly wanted to celebrate with a delicious Sal's pizza. However, this time, it wasn't just the delightful flavors of the pepperoni and pineapple pizza that brightened my day! It was Melvin's wonderful attitude that truly made the pizza experience perfect for me! I am so grateful for his exceptional service.

   Haven't been here in a while. Counter food consists of cold pizza slices they reheat. Not sure how long it sits on the counter, but from what I could tell it sits at room temperature. i had been to Sal's in Takapuna a few years ago and really enjoyed it. The cold pizza on display looks uninviting. Normally I'd order a fresh pizza but with a 10yo daughter with me we elected to have the cold slices reheated. Maybe this establishment would be better to keep the pizza slices in a chiller out the back and let people order off a photo board menu. The idea of ordering a "fresh slice of NY Style pizza" doesn't really work when it's presented cold and visually not great IMO. The pizza itself (I had pepperoni and mushroom) was "OK". My daughter liked her cheese pizza slice. The meal for the two of us came to $46. 4 pre-cooked pizza slices, 6 small mozarella sticks (deep fried, crumbed cheese) and a can of Coke.

   All the hype and a big disappointment, definitely not worth the price, very expensive and not nice tasting and VERY VERY oily. Honestly Dominoes and Pizza hut are way better and cheaper. Sals will never see us again, once bitten twice shy.

   Great pizza. Nice crust and toppings. However the place needed a good clean due to a lot of dust. Fingerprints all over tables and fittings. Not cleaned from the night before. Toilets were not good. Evidence of dry old urine drips on wall beside toilet . Skirting boards dusty, toilet seat needed a good beaching. Given this at midday they cannot use excuse of having a busy day. Good food needs to have toilets to reflect pride in the place.

   Yet to find something on the menu we don't love here. The garlic knots are ah-may-zing! Make sure you order lots, you will fight over them and want more than one. Such a novelty the way they serve pizza. Kids were a bit unsure of the basil on the pizza but realised that's partly what makes it so delicious, haha! Bit pricey compared to Dominis or Pizza Hut and it can get busy but it is well worth planning ahead and stopping for lunch or dinner as a special treat!
