   We booked a table of 12 during a fairly busy Friday evening for a celebration. We waited almost 80 minutes for the staff to take our order, despite us asking repeatedly if we could order, to which the staff said that they would get somebody else, who didn't come. Eventually one of us went up to the counter and asked the manager who sent a staff member to our table. This was at 8:20pm when we had been seated at 7pm. The food came out when it was ready, which unfortunately left some of our group without their meals more than 10 minutes after the first meals had been served and were no longer warm. Rice was delivered to the table 15 min after the curries. All in all there is very little value for money - my $26.50 beef rendang was forgettable and did not come with rice or eggs or anything extra like the pics on google. The $16 samosa and spring roll plate only had 3 of each and they did not seem homemade. The queue to pay when we were leaving was 15 people long and moving very slowly, and there were meals our group had not ordered added to the bill. I would not choose to go back here for a BYO celebration again, sorry. I'm left wondering if the restaurant was understaffed for how busy it was. The price just does not reflect the experience.

   We had a wonderful meal at Istana Malaysia in Wellington. We ordered the beef rendang, nasi goreng, and lamb murtabak, and every dish was delicious—flavorful, well-cooked, and authentic. The owner was also incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend this place for great Malaysian food and warm hospitality!

   After more than 30 years operating, guess people here accept Malaysian food. Varieties of menu to give first timer a taste of Malaysian food. For those who don't take thick curry, the curry Laksa here is for you. Light and don't smell too much of curry but the taste is there. As for the soto, would be good if it can be accompanied by Nasi Impit and chili blended soy source for the spiciness. This restaurant is a great for family or friends gathering. Staff are nice, attentive and polite.

   You won't be disappointed, is written on the sign outside. Best place to bring family if your looking for somewhere to eat. The food is amazing, and the service and is wonderful.

   In the process of reviewing every Malaysian Restaurant in Wellington. Not impressed. Ended up spending almost $50 just to be almost full. Portions were small, Prices were high, quality was mediocre. I've had more filling, better meals for less money at most of the Malaysian restaurants in the city. Curries don't come with rice which was a little weird. To anyone over 6 foot, good luck getting into your seat without knocking anything over.

   Best Nasi Lemak I've ever had. Taste was very authentic, almost like a generational recipe handed down. Sago dessert very good too. Decor had good ambience and was very tidy and clean. Staff attentive and friendly. Immediately greeted as I entered. Food came out quickly. Other patrons all looked happy and engaged. Prices very reasonable.

   Went to istana for our 5 anniversary The place , vibes , the friendly customer service were all very very good They asked how was the food and if we do need anything else The food were fine as well but the amounts was too little And the curry served alone without rice and then you need to ask for a rice side That's doesn't make any sense Curry cant be eaten alone and should be served with rice otherwise the meal is lacking and missing an essential part of it Anyway the food is not bad but the prices are high and the amounts are not that much
