“Had my first experience of Ethiopian food here, and it was delicious! The wife and husband team let us know what was available and put together an excellent communal meal for six of us. Although it took a while to arrive (cooked from scratch!), it was well worth the wait and the portions were extremely generous. Highly recommend!”

“My family arranged my birthday at The Verandah Cafre and Function Centre. The service, the team and the atmosphere is 5-star! Shout out to Scott, the Event Manager and the rest of the staff members who did a wonderful service in looking after our needs. If there's something that needs to be improved, it will be the food portions on the catering. But truly and overall, we have a memorable experience that lasts a lifetime! “Ordered the smoked salmon quiche at what was obviously a very busy time (delayed flight) with a fairly long queue. The staff were clearly at the limit of how fast they can work, but despite this they were extremely professional, courteous and prompt with keeping the orders going. I was advised there would be a five minute wait, which was exactly the time that passed before I was served with my piping hot order, which was absolutely delicious and definitely hit the right spot!! Couldn't possibly ask for more. I note quite a few people have commented that it's not obvious where one orders from (!!!) - clue: it's probably on the side the till, the cabinet and the juice stand are! I guess you can't help everyone...”

“Oh. My. Goodness. I lived in Buenos Aires for a while and this was like stepping through a portal to those cobbled streets. The empanadas (like Cornish pasties but infinitely more delicious) are fresh and full of flavour and the croissants are actually medialunas, similar to croissants but they are sweet. They are the real deal and will blow your mind with their soft, pillowy goodness. Get the one stuffed with caramel/ dulce de leche and pair it with a black coffee for an unforgettable experience.”

“I totally endorse the positive comments. Sarah (or SJ as I now know her) may well be the best barista I have chanced upon. She simply makes the best coffee without question. Extremely efficient. Knows my name, knows my car, knows my coffee of choice. She knows where I am in the line. I don't have to order, I simply sit down, converse with her and it's all done. It's like being Norm on Cheers (for those of that dynasty). Absolutely brilliant. I travel from Lincoln just for the friendly face, fantastic service and good banter. I am now waiting for the batch of coffee and walnut muffins to greet me as I frequent the establishment once again ..”
