   My partner and 2 small children stopped by here after swimming about 2pm on Saturday. My partner set the kids up on a table, getting ready to order when he was approached by staff, impolitely telling him that they must move as they don't want to clean the table again in this area. My partner and young son pointed out that there were others sitting in this area, working on laptops, and why was nobody else being told to move? They fumbled their words and didn't come up with any plausible excuse. This is the second time my partner has been made to feel insignificant and judged by his appearance in this establishment (he is pacific islander). After reading other reviews of a women being treated the same way, and racial bias seems to be at the center of it, it solidified our feelings about the situation.

   Firstly I use to go to this Café on a regular basis as I am a member of the Aquatic Centre. One day my friend & I bought take out flatwhites and the coffee was burnt. We went back to return our burnt coffees and get our money back and the Café manager looked really annoyed because we returned the burnt coffees and we asked for our money back. After attending the gym the following week I ordered a take out flatwhite again. The Café manager said to me that she refuses to serve me & accused me of often making trouble there in the past. I told her I never did and then SHE ACCUSED ME OF CALLING HER A RACIST. I told her I never called her a racist and she was convinced I did. She obviously got me confused with someone else. After that she said she'd serve me as long as I don't make trouble there again. The point is I never made any trouble there and I got really upset for being accused of things I never did including me calling her racist that I never did. I am not racist and have friends and associates of diverse backgrounds. Everytime she is there I refuse to go in and I recently saw that they put their prices up. A medium flatwhite is now 5.90!! Unbelievable for a Café that doesn't have very good service and a Café manager who is really not a nice person. I have decided never to go there ever again and opt going elsewhere to 'Hey George Café' in Kilbirnie where the Café workers are really lovely and welcoming, the coffee is nice and it only costs $5 for a medium flat white take out coffee that uses organic milk. I do not recommend the Aquatic Café hence why I gave it a 1 star rating.

   Ask for a menu non - given - order taken wrong and when complained- the person on the counter was rude and told us that’s what we ordered and paid for and that she is all by herself today so that’s it. I told her she is rude and she just gave me the creepiest smile saying I am smiling don’t I. If I could rate the service a menus I would. Ask for the manager and she gave me a number I tried to call but surprise of course no one picked up. I understand it’s only a cafe but that’s no need to be treated so rudly

   What's with the hard, dry banana muffins? They tasted like they'd been baked days ago, stale chocolate icing on top too, not yummy at all

   I went here a last week, and have been meaning to write this review. I often go to the lampton quay one too, and everytime I have gone here, it was dreadful. you can tell that the sweets are from the supermarket, and overpriced. my coffee was cold, and tasted dreadful. the worst part was I was trying to order but there was a group of girls (the staff) gossiping about others as I stood there. the other times, there was no one at the counter. Whoever owns this place needs to be replaced because they hired staff are teen girls who giggle instead of working, and clearly doesn’t look after anything. 0/5 stars if I could.

   So so bad. We ordered chips and waited 20 minutes. Another group of people walked in and hadn’t even sat down yet and the lady gave them a bowl of chips that was meant to be ours. We then waited another 10 minutes for them and they still didn’t arrive. We had to ask the people where our chips were. The arrived 10 mins later. Appalling service

   Gosh this place has gone down hill, we ordered cheese scones and they had no flavour and were flat today, the white chocolate and berry muffin was raw inside and the wedges come with crispy bacon normally, but to make there life easier as advised when we questioned this, we were presented with diced ham that looked like pet food, just no care in the food and the cabinet food has changed. Not impressed. Something has definitely changed recently.
