I ordered a scone with jam & cream. $8.50 seemed a tad steep. However the scone was very nice with cinnamon sprinkled over the top. I was disappointed that the cream and jam were decanted into single-use plastic cups instead of washable ceramic dishes. A lovely location overlooking the lake.
Tomato, onion and cheese muffin very bland, custard kronut was nice, vege filo average. The guy serving us said he was tired, struggled to function, they had no dairy alternative for butter - we asked for olive oil - first he said the chefs were using it, then when asked for them to pour some into a tiny container, he said they searched high and low and couldn’t find any, all within 30 seconds. Our CABINET food took 30 mins to come out, the kitchen did have a sign up saying KITCHEN food was 30 mins wait, hence choosing cabinet food. But it was nice sitting in the fresh air in the shade. Also had to sit with dirty dishes on our table.
Nice cafe on the lake front, lovely views and great spot for a bite to eat, coffee or ice cream. A bit pricey but not bad for a treat. They also sell duck food which is wonderful. However service could be a bit better, as it was slow even for cabinet food to come out and kitchen closes at 3pm, limiting options.
My family arranged my birthday at The Verandah Cafre and Function Centre. The service, the team and the atmosphere is 5-star! Shout out to Scott, the Event Manager and the rest of the staff members who did a wonderful service in looking after our needs. If there's something that needs to be improved, it will be the food portions on the catering. But truly and overall, we have a memorable experience that lasts a lifetime! We also use them as a function room with catering for our church group activities. Keep up the incredible awesome work The Verandah Cafe Team! Blessings and regards.
The atmosphere was amazing, and the service was great. I like the food taste, but how to say I can not give a score for great just can I say may need some progress
Very slow food service and pretty average food. Reasonably expensive. Probably only survives due to its good location by lake and playground. Nice building
I've attended this venue for a takebout coffee on 5 consecutive days whilst having appointments in the area. On each occasion the staff were friendly, polite, and helpful to me and all other customers I noted. I didn't have any food but what I saw looked nice. Great view of the lake and an outdoor area for when the weather is fair.
We recently held a work event at The Verandah. It was the best experience! The team were so accommodating to all of our requirements and made light of our 'not so small' last minute changes. The offer to have a team available for us to go in and set up at midnight to work around our schedule was something we are extremely grateful for. They provided out catering across multiple delivery locations whilst delivering to table at the same time and being able to cater requested cultural dishes that isn't on the menu absolutely topped off the experience. Being able to have audio/visual and decor set up inclusive of Venue and catering was an added bonus. We enjoyed the youthfulness of the event staff and we are really grateful to the entire team for providing such a wonderful space for us to celebrate. If there was any space for improvement, it would be the timeliness of delivery of food to tables but overall it was the most effortless Venue we have had to work with thus far! Thank you for the beautiful day team. We appreciate you all and will be recommending your space to anyone that asks!
Good food, average prices. Great playground right beside if you've brought the children. Lovely views out over the lake. A nice place to be even on a rainy day.
We came in at 1:25pm on a Wednesday afternoon only to arrive to a sign saying the kitchen was CLOSED. The normal time the kitchen closes is 3pm. We were starving, and were able to order the chicken croissant from the cabinet, but NOT able to get it warmed up or grilled. When it came to the table, THIS (see image) was how much chicken was inside. The chicken and croissant were both very dry. Sadly, colleagues had gone here the day before and said it wasn't good. I really wished I'd have listened. Highly disappointed and do not recommend.
