“I recently had to replace a door handle unit that was 15 hyears old. Others I approached told me that they didn't stock it and that was as far as they would go. When I went to Placemakes, they did some researcxh for me and found that it was still being manufactured and could be ordered. TYnhey ordered it for me, it arrived in two working days, and it fitted perfectly. Polite and obliging staff. It will be my first port of call next time I am looking for hardware.”

They were also very accommodating as we needed to do some work on the floor once the old carpet was lifted and they went out of their way to accommodate our requests, so 10 out of 10 to the laying team. “Fantastic service! I popped in on Sunday to speak to someone about a chair that my mother purchased - I believe it was faulty. We dealt with Tammy (who I believe was from the Hastings Store). She was brilliant to deal with, made the whole exchange process so simple, straightforward and painless. She was also extremely helpful in expediting this quickly, as our circumstances meant that time was in short supply. All the other staff were super helpful too. “This little op shop has had a bit of an overhaul lately and I think it’s looking really good! The store always smells nice, they’ve started changing displays to be a bit more interesting. I particularly like how they are displaying the good records up on the wall where you can see them. There are two staff members in particular who are always very friendly and have great banter. The new manager is lovely also. Prices on clothing, music, books, tchotchkes and electronics are very reasonable. Prices on toys are some media are quite high. Sometimes the store closes before their stated closing hours which can be a bit of a bummer. The biggest benefit of this op shop is that they prevent electronics from becoming landfill! Most local op shops chop the cords of electronics and bin them as they don’t have a system for electronics testing. Keep it up habitat team :)”
