Always clean and tidy and always has an atmosphere of welcome and efficiency. What I like the most is the age range of staff.”

“As a visitor from NSW, Australia, I can't believe Woolworths has a pharmacy inside it! And it sells alcohol inside as well! (not a separate store like in Australia). Also saw sausages being sold in a plastic bag! Then my credit card bill still says Countdown instead of Woolworths, which was their old name! New Zealand is truly an interesting place.”

“Absolutely outstanding service from Lisa, the checkout manager at Fresh Choice Roslyn, Dunedin. We asked if it was possible to organise a fruit gift basket — something most places would have simply said no to — but Lisa immediately sprang into action. With a can-do attitude and genuine customer care, she made it happen on the spot. We were so impressed by her initiative and professionalism. A real credit to the store. Thank you, Lisa!”

At Cobb at the Railway Station, the menu stays classic fish-and-chips, served with an easygoing pace. Sides support without crowding the star. Pricing lines up with the offer. Portions are generous yet well judged.

On the plate at Domino's Pizza Andersons Bay, the idea is pizza-first and well executed. Front‑of‑house runs with calm, helpful energy. Wait times are contained even when busy. Good value shows in the serve sizes.

“I am a first time shopper with Frames Footwear. I was after a pair of Bresley shoes and they had what I wanted. I sent off a request at 10am, and was kept informed all the way. The courier collected the shoes around 4pm and I received them by 3.30pm the following day and I live North of Auckland. So from Dunedin to the North of Auckland in one day is absolutely fantastic. I received a lovely hand-written note from Tom. There was a wee issue with the shoes (they squeaked) so I sent an email to Tom, which he answered straight away and sent me up a pottle of beeswax (which once again was received within 24 hours). This has fixed the squeaking. I can't thank you enough for the good old fashioned wonderful service. So much appreciated, and I will be shopping with you again. :)”

“Highly recommend this company, I had a charging issue with my truck, Paul (manager) had one of his workers diagnosis the issue straight away, he spent approximately half an hour checking and identifying the issue, there was no charge for the diagnosis, (rarely seen these days), HDL were able to sorce replacement parts instantly and had my truck booked into the workshop the next day, I also had HDL look at another electrical problem, and this was also corrected and truck is running better than ever, Jacob who worked on my truck both times really did a thorough job and his work is impeccable, definitely an asset to HDL auto's , thanks team much appreciated...John”

“I found they made authentic desserts and visited again with my partner. I was stunned once more! The sandwich was massive and full of fresh ingredients. The salami, parsleys, ham, cheese, baby spinaches and handmade bread! The best ever! I couldn't even finish it over there and fetched it for dinner as well. When it comes to dessert, I've tried cardamom roll, pan au chocola, brown butter cookie, mascapone chocolate tart. None of them disappointed me. Every single thing was authentic. You can see different range whenever you visit then you can't be sick of their menu. Especially, brown butter cookies, it's fabulous when you have it a bit cool. The butter flavour is flooring at every bite and half the cookie is chocolate. Highly recommended and will definitely visit again”
