   Ratana is a local to us, so we booked a table for the family for new years eve. Food is always nice here and has a good selection of Italian wines. I find the decor good with bits and bobs on the walls, but I do have a couple of issues. Firstly, the seating is terrible! Cheap plastic chairs that flex when you lean back does not make for a comfortable dining experience and we all felt like we just wanted to eat and leave. No dessert or extra glass of wine. In fact we went elsewhere for that. Secondly, we asked if we could add some meat to a pizza, but just on half of it (it was being shared and one person didn't want the addition) Now, we didn't want a half and half pizza, just to add meat to one side. Additional meats were listed on the menu at an extra cost and we were happy to pay. We just didn't want the extra meat all over the pizza. However, we were told this couldn't be done. Not sure why when supposedly the pizza is all made to order? Not our best dinner experience at this venue and to be honest, given the comfort of the seating, we may not be back, which is a shame as the food is great. 4 stars given because of the food only.

   Friends had the pasta which they said was good, only comment was that thr sauce was a bit more watery than expected. I had the pizza, there was something not quite right about it, when comparing against my favorite from Base Pizza. It was adequate but nothing to write home about.

   Really enjoyed our meal here. The pizza was perfect for my taste — soft in the centre, not too dry, and full of flavour. The pasta dishes were also delicious and well cooked. The pizzas do take a little longer to come out, but it’s understandable for wood-fired pizza and definitely worth the wait. Service was friendly and attentive, and overall we had a great dining experience. Will happily come back again.

   The pizza was okay, it’s better than normal oven pizza. That’s just the nature of wood oven pizza but I’ve never had such a wet pizza in the center it was condensations or the sauce was too wet but it was a swimming pool of mush. The crust was good though but I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here

   Best home made pasta (carbonara) I have ever had. Great service, with nice soft Italian music playing. Nice service and atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

   We have been a couple of times to Ratana and it’s becoming one of our favourites . Tonight we had the Focaccia bread and it was delicious - easily fed four. Followed by a Lamb shank, Bacon Carbonara , Ragu and Chicken pizza - all were delicious and super tasty . A couple of small things - when serving pasta please offer a spoon for the spin /roll. And it’s super chilly inside , noted other people still with their jackets on . Might be hard to fix this with such a high roof . Would recommend and we will be back .

   Ambience and overall decor of the restaurant was really good. Drinks were slightly expensive. We ordered two pizzas chicken flavoured. But the chicken chunks were too big. These were slightly dry and flavourless. The chef was really friendly. My partner spoke to him and got all the information we needed to eat comfortably. They should put it on their website to make reservation before coming in. Although it could be that it was a weekend and the restaurant was full. Will visit again!

   The food at Ratana Italian Restaurant is truly tasty. The pizza crust is crispy and flavorful, the pasta is perfectly cooked, and the sauces are rich and satisfying. And the portions are generous, so you definitely won't leave hungry. One area where Ratana Italian Restaurant could improve is in their utensils. Specifically, the knives that were provided did not cut through the meat and pizza as well as one would hope. While this may seem like a small issue, it can certainly detract from the overall dining experience.
