βWe were delightfully surprised by this hidden gem tucked away in the Tuam St kitchens. There was a bit of a mix up with our order making it take 20+ minutes extra but considering it was a very rainy and busy Sunday night and the food was still handed to us piping hot with an extra mango lassi we weren't too fussed. Any small amount of hanger we were still experiencing was immediately blown away the moment we opened those containers and saw the glorious food inside! Everything was amazing. Beautiful soft lamb in the rogan josh, tasty chicken tikka, super stretchy cheese naan. Definitely the best Indian takeaway I've ever had. Restaurant quality to go! Highly recommend you check them out.β

βI have now visited this restaurant twice with my husband and both times, food and service has been excellent. The Platter dishes are extremely tasty. Don't rely on google maps to locate Spice Village - for some reason it directs you behind the restaurant. The restaurant is on High Street. Great restaurant and highly recommendβ

βAlways a favourite!! Usually the family's go-to for takeout but on special occasions we dine in. The young guy server is fantastic. He's friendly, chatty, and explains the meals in knowledgeable depth. The meals themselves are great, I don't think our family has ever had a meal they didn't like here. I also highly recommend the mango lassi - it's criminal if you don't get one. :)β

βOur family dined here last night, and we had an excellent time. The service was fantastic, and the food was delicious. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had a lovely experience which we did. I can't remember what they were called, but those little cheese entree things were the most delicious morsels ever. I am dreaming of having those again very soon. We will be back. Thank you.β

βIt was a fantastic experience, food was amazing. Had lamb with two types of couscous and Arab rice. My partner had also lamb with other sides, I must say the Greek salad was on top there as well. Updated the menu too, the one from 4years ago might not be relevant anymore...β
βAbsolutely enjoyed that meal even my LB ate everything, service was great too Chicken tikka is worth itβ
βThe restaurant itself is not that spectacular to dit in, but luckily the beach is just some meters away. Getting takeaway at eat at the beach is the best choice to make. We only gad to wait 20 minutes for two dishes, which were really tasty! The butter Naan was also good. This restaurant has a wide variety of non-vegetarian and vegetarian dishes which all have a good price.β

βWe recently dined at Mumbaiwala in Christchurch and had a fantastic experience. We ordered the Mumbai Chicken, the Lamb Chef's Special of the Day, Kadai Chicken, Chicken Biryani, and fresh naan. Everything was full of flavour, especially the Mumbai Chicken and Kadai Chicken β both had just the right balance of spice and richness. The Lamb Chefβs Special was beautifully cooked and tender. The naan was soft and perfect for soaking up the sauces. The only slight letdown was the Chicken Biryani β it was decent but didnβt quite stand out compared to the other dishes. Service was friendly and prompt, and the ambiance was vibrant and inviting. Definitely a great place for authentic Indian food in the heart of Christchurch. Looking forward to our next visit!β
