“Came here for the first time today after reading heaps of good reviews, and I have already recommended this place to friends and family. The selection of sweet and savoury items was great, there really is something for everyone. The fruit and custard tart I had is the best one I've eaten, the variety of fruits on it was impressive and the pastry and chocolate base was delicious. For savouries I had the spinach and feta quiche which was also yummy. Cosy atmosphere and I highly recommend this place!”

“It was a fantastic experience, food was amazing. Had lamb with two types of couscous and Arab rice. My partner had also lamb with other sides, I must say the Greek salad was on top there as well. Updated the menu too, the one from 4years ago might not be relevant anymore...”

“What an awesome local, this was our second visit for a meal. We enjoyed our first visit last time we were in town and this visit was just as good. Great to see the quality experience wasn't a once off. Very friendly staff especially the mascot pup Oden. Service was fast friendly and no problem with my requests for a custom burger. Food was real, fresh and very enjoyable. Thanks guys we will be :-)”

“I just had my breakfast. Good service, good food and good environment. It took 15 minutes to serve me food that I ordered from the menu. My friends ordered from the cabinet that was served within 5 minutes. We were very happy with everything.”

“The waimakariri tavern is a gr8 place to visit for a quiet drink with some friends. on the weekends they also have live music Saturdays and Sundays if it's a lovely day it's awsome to sit outside and toe tap to the music”

“An unbelievable place.. fantastic atmosphere.. great rock n roll music.. the food is pub-like but excellent.. awesome selection of beers and spirits.. the service and bar staff are beyond amazing.. great outside area for smoking, vaping and puff on your favorite large cigars.. best place in Christchurch.. would recommend it to anyone.. thanks Haley, for the best service I've ever had.. this is a place to comeback as often as one can.. overall, one of the best pubs I've ever had the pleasure to have gone to.. “I loved everything about this space. An old school with a range of different businesses in the old classrooms.The court yard was filled with tables and chairs and a very relaxed vibe to go with it. I had the Eggs Benedict, a delicious coffee and piece of scrumptious slice for the road later. The Bene was that good I haven’t stopped thinking about it. The cabinet was full of healthy options with plenty of gf to. I think I’ve just found my new stop over.”

“We had the high tea which did not disappoint. It was hard to choose a favourite they were all so delicious and there was a good amount of food as well. Lovely waitress looking after us who took the time to explain all of the tasty treats. Highly recommend, I will certainly be back!!”

“It's a really friendly New World it's a bit further than our local one but we worth the trip. Fresh meats, pies, pastries and great selection of fruit and veggies it also has ready made section that has a fantastic fresh bowl with rice, edamame and chicken.”

“They have specials every day of the week. Love that it is supported by mature customers. The food is tasty, have had pizza on 2 occasions and a liver and bacon dish on one. The gravy is devine for meat lovers. Worth returning. The staff are very friendly and wrlcoming.”

“Good coffee and tasty treats, a breakfast menu, sweet and savoury pastries and special meals Saturday evenings. Vegan treat options that I’ve enjoyed include the raspberry slice, ginger slice, brownie ball and a delectable, apple-and-cinnamon scroll. The scrambled-tofu on toasted sourdough (choice of bread) was very good too, served with dukkah and tomatoes. I’ve also attended a three-course vegan dinner: delicious, leek-potato soup with croutons, lentil shepherd’s pie and sticky toffee pudding with coconut-milk ice cream. Now licensed for beer and wine, including both non-alcoholic and regular Budvar, a classic Czech beer. More seating upstairs. Pleasant service.”

“Incredible medium cooked sirloin and gratin! Absolutely perfect! Served by Philippe who was very knowledgeable and provided a great wine recommendation to complement my meal. I overheard him talking with another table and he had excellent knowledge to share. The steak was easily the best I’ve ever had!”

“Went for lunch today at Raspberry Café. I’ve been to this place many times and have always loved their cakes — they’re my favourite! Today I found out the café is now under new ownership, which is great to see. The service was excellent, and I really appreciated that the new owner personally visited tables to check in with customers and get feedback — a wonderful touch. They have plenty of hospitality experience, and I’m excited to see some new items showing up on the menu soon.”
