Hands down the best cafe in Christchurch. People sit, eat and share here, they don’t turn into statues staring at phones. It’s old fashioned, real food made by people who know what real food is and what it should smell, look and taste like! Everyone we see coming here are people who know good food! It’s awesome ❀️❀️❀️❀️

Omg! I don’t know where to start. Ordered brown rice salad, it’s too sweet. Unfortunately I can’t taste anything else. Wasted my money. If you think brown rice salad will be healthy, this is not healthy, this salad should be called diabetic salad. I can’t even finish 1/3 of that salad.

Leeves cafe is the best kept secret in christchurch. The food is good , no the food is excellent. The coffee is great and the atmosphere is very pleasant . What more could you ask for. Well done to Leeves and the staff that run it so well.

Have happily attended this cafe for many years. There was a lot of heavy food on offer ( pastry ) so my friend and I opted for the brown rice salad. It was so heavily coated in a sweet gooey salad dressing neither of us could eat it. Totally overpowering any other ingredients. I feel I politely advised our concerns and asked if we could maybe swop for a different option. The β€˜boss’ was consulted, very defendant and advised that’s the way it is and basically if we didn’t like it tough. The staff looked embarrassed. To worsen the situation she then came over to our table and repeated this message. Double whammy. My friend had a small plate of the alternative salad ( again heavily dressed) I asked for something else which was declined. Put a huge damper on our birthday celebration by the rude response. I have never returned a meal before and pointed out if it was just me you could be forgiven for presuming I was fussy but there was two of us. Polite criticism. I had my own food retail business for many years and my policy was the client is always right. Provide a refund or another option. If you want them to come back and not post negative reviews. This could have turned out so much better if we had been listened to and given a polite response. I’ll be sticking to the garden centre in future. Coffee was great!

Food is always great. However, a wait time of forty five minutes for cabinet food not good. Noted other patrons who were equally frustrated. The cafΓ© was not at full capacity.

Really really tasty food. And you can't beat eating it in a sunny courtyard surrounded by plants and the gentle sound of a fountain (there is an inside too if it's cold). Excellent gluten free savoury and sweet options that are actually fresh, have some originality, and very tasty. (Can't give much info about whether it'd be safe for coeliacs though as I didn't personally need to ask about things like separate tongs / cross contamination in preparation etc. I did notice they thoughtfully had the gluten free items on their own high shelf though.)

This was such a lovely experience! The food was fantastic and so well presented. The atmosphere was lovely and they had beautiful deserts and slices for Mother's Day. Such a lovely setting in the garden centre too!

Went in on Saturday, 'Grill' was fantastic and beautifully presented had some points of difference that you don't get at other cafes. Other mains ordered were lovely and a great selection of sweet treats which were also a bit different and were really tasty. Cafe itself is light and airy and nice to see sanitiser still available to use, even some tables had individual bottles. Reason for missing star is the 3 coffees we ordered (all different) were really unpleasant none of us could finish them. Also need to think about clearing away dirty dishes, only one of the 3 people that served us thought to do so and some were from the previous customer that had used the table.
