A very busy spot in Christchurch. TikTok led me here as we had an overnight stay and wanted to grab brekkie in the morning. The service really confused me here.. there was a massive line inside where people had to queue up to order their food. No table numbers were given to anyone, which I found so strange as you had to point out where you were sitting while at the counter. A lot of tables hadn’t been cleared too and there were dishes piling up. It seems like a bit of a chaotic system that could be easily improved. In saying that, they were pretty prompt with our food despite being busy! They mixed up my coffee order and gave me a hot latte instead of iced but were quick to change it. We had the blueberry white chocolate muffin, which was yum! I had scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and my partner had the eggs benny. I think the rice omelette is their signature but it sounded a bit too much for me early in the morning, it looked good though! Overall, food was good. Menu was ok and the service / ordering set up seemed very confusing.

Food was absolutely delicious!! We ordered the kimchi omelette rice & shakshuka. The meatballs in the shakshuka were the best meatballs I've ever had - tender, juicy & had a nice sweetness from the caramelised onions. The kimchi fried rice was just the right amount of spice and was so satisfying for asians travelling after a long trip in NZ :) Highly recommend stopping by to try their food!

Really great vibe. Nice breakfast spot and good coffee. Seating in is great with people getting on with their work and chilled on holidays and stuff. Good place Went back for round two a day later. Just as good. Rice omelette is banging. Coffees done great again. Well done team.

We loved the atmosphere at Child Sister - simple and charming. The staff were all very pleasant and accommodating. Our favorites were the kimchi rice omelette and the honey butter waffle fries. The coffee was good too. We’ll definitely be back.

Coffee was pretty average, nothing special about it. But the interior is very nice! Would be keen to try their cheesecake next time~

Nice airy and clean cafe, coffee was absolutely delicious as was the Shakshuka! Very busy though so had taken us a few weekends to actually get a table as bookings aren't taken for groups of 2. Will definitely go back to try some of the other dishes we saw going to other tables - lots of cleaned plates!

This is a restaurant that I go often on my day off, and I really recommend this place. The staff are kind and the boss is nicer, so I can't quit this restaurant. The food is so good

Excellent location close to Margaret Mahy Playground for those parents who want to tie in a Cafe visit with a trip to the playground. The service was really fast - we were in and out in half hour from 130-2pm on a Saturday. Husband loved the eggs benedict but felt the rosti was undercooked. My ginger lemon tea was lovely and my daughter really enjoyed her fluffy too. We will be back soon!

Really cool 'industrial' cafe environment across from Margaret Mahy playground. Lots of nice food, bustling at 11am Monday. Lots of shared table space. Had coffees with almond milk brand I wasn't familiar with and it tasted ok - not as good as Almond Breeze milk tho. A few sunny outdoor tables street side.
