We visited Puhoi Cottage Tea Rooms and really enjoyed the food and the beautiful open, farm-like setting with ducks roaming around. However, the experience was spoiled by an interaction with a staff member. Our 4-year-old child got excited seeing the ducks and walked toward them — they simply ran away, as ducks do. A lady then came out and rudely told our child not to do it. While we understand protecting animals and setting boundaries, the way this was handled was unnecessary and lacked basic kindness toward a young child.

Quiet area in puhoi, with vintage item scattered everywhere, feels like im in the 80s. Nice for a sunday outing if this is youre thing. - Angus beef sausage roll 5.5/10 These are the brand "dads pies" not house made. I buy these at local BP stations. - pepper steak pie 7.0/10 This was homemade. Top fell off easy, pie had broke away quite easy. However the meat was tender, nice peppery gravy, and the pastry was cooked well. If it held together it'd be a decent pie.

A charming tea room with a beautiful garden! The tea room is very quaint, filled with interesting decor and items. We loves to see the stock of homemade jams and preserves. The high tea was absolutely delicious and they were very generous with their servings. It was a great way to top our visit to Puhoi. It was a lovely visit.

What a beautiful location! We had high tea - the food, all made in house, was divine. The hot scones, made freshly for us, were light and fluffy and served with delicious jam and fresh cream. The tea was lovely, with bottomless refills of the tea pot. And there is something peaceful about looking over the garden, watching ducks and chickens foraging whilst sparrows gather for crumbs. The service was also wonderful, friendly but professional. I would thoroughly recommend a visit! N.B. There is other food apart from a high tea, and it looked wonderful!

Puhoi Cottage Tea Rooms is really one of a kind. Situated right alongside the Puhoi River, you get to enjoy nature and observe beautiful views while enjoying a delicious warm cup of tea with some light food. They have a wonderful selection of high-quality flavoursome teas to accompany their scrumptious signature scones – presented in beautiful antique chinaware. Whilst they have other food as well such as sandwiches and soup, the Devonshire Cream Teas are a must have! The tea house was built in the early 1900's and has a wonderful character and warmth to it. It is beautifully decorated and contains many hand-made ornaments and fixtures giving you a cosy homely feeling. The garden is very spacious, dog friendly, and kid-friendly with a 14ft trampoline and many chickens roaming about to keep the kids entertained. The service above all is first class. The owners take pride in what they do, and make you feel warm, welcome, and relaxed. We had an amazing time visiting today and highly recommend the place. We'll be back for sure, thank you for having us!

This is an excellent spot for a quick Scone and a warm tea. The owner was very friendly and the scones were the best I have ever had. I had the berry tea and it had lots of flavour. The back garden was spacious and very welcoming. We didn't have to wait long for our food dispite it being quite busy. This place needs to be reconized because it is really worth going to if you're stopping in Puhoi for the day. I will definitely be going there again :)
