Super cute little cottage. Everything was very clean and honestly the best of 6 or so places I stayed at over a month in North Island. Hosts were extremely welcoming and respectful.. will recommend to friends!
We can highly recommend Harbour View Cottage for a place to stay for a night or two as we did once when returning from an overseas trip, and again for a family reunion. The cottage is charming, quaint, clean, reasonably priced and quiet and the hosts couldn't have been more helpful. We plan to go back again soon as there's the huge Factory shopping complex all in walking distance. It's a lovely spot even for a night's hideaway..
Nice enough but very poor communication experience. Owner blames website and charged extra. Lack of privacy when staying. I think it’s over rated for the cost and the owner needs to invest in managing the accommodation much better. Would not stay again or recommend. The advertised salt hot pool was unavailable as is used by the family in summer for their children. Don’t advertise facilities if you can’t provide what you offer. Left with bites all over us also. Unsure if bed bugs?? Not pleasant. For the price charged this is an average stay.
Horrific - best advice, stay somewhere else! I booked this 3 months in advance, on their website paying a deposit via PayPal and they still managed to overlook my booking and take another booking leaving me & my family who were visiting from overseas stranded in Auckland trying to find another place to stay with our dog on the 30th Dec. Stressful. Go elsewhere!
This is the first review we have ever done. My wife booked this place under her name, it was the second visit. I will do points but do yourself a favor - DO NOT STAY. Never got the promised 10% off for a second visit. They cancel most of the books online as they want to charge you double over the phone. 1. Overcharged us and then wanted cash for a small dog sleeping outside. Also charges for you to park your car inside the property. Demands CASH so never mentioned on the phone. 2. Charged over $300 per night for 2 people plus the cash and wanted more. 3 The place was dirty, they live right to the side and in front of you so are in your face the whole time. No peace or quiet. 4. Never book online as they will cancel you and hard to get money back. 5. No toilet paper, the washing machine was not working and it is not a bed and breakfast. You get a couple of tea bags and a very small milk in the fridge. Do yourself a BIG favor and go elsewhere. They are very rude. We will never stay there again. James & Adele
We made a booking weeks in advance for 2 nights, paid the 1st night via PayPal and got a booking confirmation. One day before arrival we called to talk about our arrival, but got the information that apparently other guests with covid stayed there and we couldn't come. A refund of the amount we had already paid was promised. Not only we had to find another stay on short notice, the refund was never received. I called several times just to hear the same excuse again and again and the promise the money would be there shortly. It's not! Don't loose your money and find something else!
Charming property! Set up by someone who cares about being in business and providing a fantastic service. The decor was fun to imagine why it was so, and on a couple of accounts, we guessed correctly regards the origins of the cottage and the owner's hobby or passion. So clean and well thought out. The breakfast on the deck was scrumptious even in the rain and mist. Well looked after.
Well appointed and cosy little cottage with all amenities you could need. Clever layout that makes the small area feel spacious. Shame about the weather during our stay, because the grounds look very inviting and well kept.
Had a wonderful stay here, the cottage and the grounds were well kept and presented. Geoff had great knowledge of the area for us to visit and took the time to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Definitely recommend and we'll be back!
We were so pleased with this cottage that within 15mins of being there were got it for another night! The host was wonderful, he family wonderful,( they were very discreet) and yet it’s was a private French cottage that was super clean,and wonderfully comfortable! There was food in walking distance and some lovely restaurants, and wonder view of the bay. We also had a parking spot! We stayed in some other hotels but this is by for the best! Thank you so much!
