“Hawkins Theatre in Papakura is now open after refurbishment. Hawkins theatre is a great place to meet with friends and enjoy each others company while catching a movie, school performances, Dane competitions, events and awards, The Glow Show, or a fun time with Operatunity!! You can purchase ice-cream, coffee, biscuits, or wine at the bar. You can take them into the theatre with you also. If you are a senior and purchase your tickets online for the movies, currently they are only $10:00. Hawkins theatre is also a lovely place to take the grandchildren/mokopuna for the movies anytime. There is often a Ladies night, which costs $24 or $26 depending if you purchase in advance or at the door. Thus usually involves a chick flick(however some me do attend) a drink of any kind and an ice-cream. A great deal. Here are a few photos of the April program to pique your interest.”
“Last international act I saw was back in the 80s in the 'super top' with UB40. Boy things have changed. And for the better. Plenty of kiosks & free water. The arena's sound system is 1st class & its probably the way I would like to see acts from overseas.”
“Very interesting neighbourhood cinema!”
“Visited the theatre for the ballet of lights. The theatre seating is really comfortable and even has a mini table that folds up which is great to hold drinks and food. Parking is easy and there are snacks at the bar.”
“Enjoyed the music and venue. Pity they were not always in tune. But it was a step back down memory lane.”
“We celebrated our son’s third birthday here yesterday and it was the perfect venue for it. Helpful and attentive staff, wonderful food, and an open and inviting atmosphere for the children to play. A very family friendly place. Thank you Whoa! Studios ✨”
“Very interesting to watch part of the rehearsal, and what goes on behind the scenes of a stage production.”
“Be there a few times for performance or seminars. It may look obsolete in terms of architecture/interior, but the acoustic effects are still stunning. My only complaint is the seats. It's reasonable comfortable. When it gets pushed straight, somewhere the metal parts make a very loud bang sound.”
“Here’s a polished, positive Google-style review based on your example: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What an amazing place! Just visited the new climbing facility in Auckland and it blew me away. The setup is modern, safe, and seriously fun. We were there trying out the new climbing venture and the kids absolutely loved it. Such a great way to get them off the devices and give them a real personal challenge — watching them overcome their fears and push themselves was awesome. Highly recommend for families, beginners, and anyone looking for a confidence-boosting adventure!”
“Good open place for community to use for free, stage and Amphitheatre”
“Really helped my decision between macbook m3 15" and m4 13". Very insightful. Decided on m3 15". Thank you especially to the person at JB who I did not but should have asked his name.”
“Cosy club rooms and high quality musical theatre is created by this organization”
“Definitely a must to check out if your in the heart of the city, was designed for the rugby World Cup but has since been transformed in a rec centre and exhibition centre as well. Was attacked by a tornado recently so have been sent in to do repair work will post more pics in time for update”
“Had our grad here and nice historical clean venue”
“Mitch and his team member were so helpful today while I purchased a new camera for my business. Great, friendly customer service which made the shopping experience so much more enjoyable. Kind, knowledgeable workers with next level customer service. Thanks Mitch & team!”
“Very convenient theatre, decent size approximately 800 seating capacity.”
“I've been visiting Gatau House Cafe recently and absolutely love it. Their coffee is consistently delicious, and the cakes are just amazing — fresh, flavorful, and a perfect match with a cup of coffee. As a student, I really appreciate the discount they offer, which makes it even more enjoyable. The service is superb, the staff are always friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The atmosphere in the cafe is wonderful too - calm, cozy, and relaxing, making it a perfect spot to study, catch up with friends, or just unwind. Highly recommend Gatau House to anyone looking for a great coffee and cake experience.”
“I have changed over to my prescription meds pickup to Chemist Warehouse Silverdale recently as prices are way better and the stock is 5x larger than regular pharmacies. It is always busy there with plenty of helpful staff often stocking up shelves. Most know where stuff is.”
“Can't wait until they are fully restored/refurbished. Super exciting and Auckland is looking forward to it!! All the best team, you will be another huge plus for the Arts and Culture Scene in Auckland!”
“Highly recommend this company of actors! Just saw "Witness for the prosecution" at the Pumphouse theatre and it was outstanding! Very talented actors, I forgot I was watching a play at times, as I was so absorbed in the courtroom drama. Thank you.”
“Always enjoy attending a play at ATC.”
“Great experience at the Rialto Staff were very good & the cinema very clean & tidy”
“Fantastic show for kids and adults. My 5 year old daughter loved it.”
“The story shows us that even the most insignificant of us are party to major outcomes and that minorities still have the power to influence effect the end result. All with humour along the way.”
“A beautiful place to connect with, and learn from, amazing creative minds.”
“I can't speak on the inner workings of the academy, but I recently travelled to Auckland specifically to see their production of Legally Blonde the Musical. I had no prior knowledge of or experience with APAA, but I was absolutely blown away by the show. The performers are insanely talented and you can tell they were thoroughly enjoying themselves. I particularly liked how they managed to include the younger kids in the show, since Legally Blonde isn't typically a show where younger kids are cast. They worked the younger performers into the show seamlessly, and they all seemed so excited to have their chance to shine (they were also incredibly talented, especially for their age!). The performers in the lead roles had seriously insane, Broadway-level talent in both singing, dancing, and acting. Super excited to visit again and watch their future shows!”
