“It's a good cinema. Very quiet during the weekday, which I like. Staff are friendly. It's over two levels. The foyer and games arcade is on one level and the theaters on another. The seats are a bit small for me as a bigger person, but generally comfortable with a lot of space between rows. All the latest releases and a good Asian selection (Bollywood, Korean, etc.), which you don't normally find at other theatres. There is 3 hour parking outside the cinema. I'm quite impressed.”

“Highly recommended!! Hired this hall for a first birthday in the weekend and it was such a beautiful venue. Easy to hire, communication was quick and very efficient. Very easy to find if you are using the google maps. We hired the main hall and small meeting room next to the kitchen and the kitchen we also added the Full stage and AV package. We were given a video with instructions on how to use the Full AV and it was very informative and very easy to follow. For someone who don’t know anything about AVs, we had no problem at all and everything worked out well. Very happy!! Photos below…”

“Going to the movies in my opinion is a special treat, and it helps when the cinema has everything you need for a great time. Hoyts Wairau is very convenient located, and has plenty of parking which makes a huge difference, so you're not stressed before the film looking for a park. Once inside, the comfort continues with plush, comfortable seating that lets you sink in and put your feet up. No cinema trip is complete without snacks, and a good variety ensures there's something for everyone, from classic popcorn to more gourmet options.”

The screen and the sound were awesome and then we had the comfy bean bags and cushions. We had so many people comment on what a lovely evening it was. “What an experience! Took my girlies to their first drag show and it was incredible. Everything from the gorgeous girls, ambience, food and many laughs were just brilliant. You get to keep the souvenir cups which is a cute memory. Food tasted so homey and just what we needed before continuing the night. Bar Manager and Bartender pushed drinks out the whole time and did an awesome job. Not only the girls performances were so fun and enjoyable to watch but their service throughout the whole night were so attentive and glamorous. Met some incredible people and would highlyyyyy recommend anyone to book for either an occasion or just to try something with friends.”

“A modern French experience at an affordable price. Choose between the chef’s selection or al a carte off the menu. My companion and I went with the latter option and it was perfect! The service was exceptional. Only suggestion for the future if management can consider implementing is acting in the comments on the booking. I had advised this was for a special occasion but it wasn’t acknowledged. Nevertheless, this was a fabulous dining experience.”

“What a great and beautiful theatre the Civic is. It has so many spaces, and walking inside feels like being in a movie. It was also used by Peter Jackson to film King Kong, and today it hosts international shows. The place is very well kept, with respect for the time when it was built. The hall with its starry sky. The bronze. Everything always shining. Very recommended to visit.”

“Was Girls and Boys worth getting stuck in hour long traffic - absolutely. Simplistic yet effective staging and lighting were transformative and poignant. The dialogue sharp and witty with the lead actress blazing through a series of difficult emotions and heavy themes with flexibility and tastefulness. I'm not normally one for a one woman show - but what a show it was!”
