Their website was a bit broken last night. I went the following day and was told to book an online order 24 hours ahead to get the log cake I wanted. The staff could have at least tried to offer they have other cakes that doesn’t require online order to get one, we have to come back and ask if the round cakes can be bought straight away. Cake is also expensive and shop couldn’t even provide a paper bag or some sort and got told off by staff just to carry it by hand. This used to be my place to buy cakes for special occasion but after this experience, I won’t be coming back and will plan to buy somewhere else.

Order a marble chiffon cake and request birthday writing on it. Upon arriving home found there was not birthday writing on it and a hole in the centre of the cake. Customer service is bad here. The person came after me was served first after I have been waiting for a while. The photo on the website does not show the hole in the centre of the cake. False advertising and customer service. Do not go to this place if you want your money’s worth.

The city store, you cannot order in store and must order online. Pick up is after 2pm onwards. Easy pick up, was not asked for email, just a name and cake was handed over. Staff was friendly. Would give service 3.5 stars. Cake was enjoyed by everyone. It would have been great if the box had a handle as it was hard to carry.

I've been visiting Gatau House Cafe recently and absolutely love it. Their coffee is consistently delicious, and the cakes are just amazing β€” fresh, flavorful, and a perfect match with a cup of coffee. As a student, I really appreciate the discount they offer, which makes it even more enjoyable. The service is superb, the staff are always friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The atmosphere in the cafe is wonderful too - calm, cozy, and relaxing, making it a perfect spot to study, catch up with friends, or just unwind. Highly recommend Gatau House to anyone looking for a great coffee and cake experience.

So disappointing We had a baked cheesecake that was dry like it was days old. The second cake was a green tea tiramisu which we threw away as it was really inedible. The taste was just awful. I thought it was expensive but I thought we were in for a treat. The result was very bad and very expensive! I strongly advise against

Got three cakes to try, everything looked so appetising! The staff were helpful and the service was swift. Mini baked cheese cake 2.5/5 Texture and taste was not what I expected. I anticipated a fluffy airy mousse like cheesecake but instead was met with a dense sponge that dried out the mouth a bit. It is quite a thick sponge with an eggy taste and was heavy to eat. It also was a bit bland, there wasn't much of a prominent flavor and I was disappointed. Classic cheesecake 3.5/5 Wow she thicc. This was was a thick solid block of cream when I cut through it. Tart in taste, with yogurt-y accents and a super creamy texture, it definitely tingled the tastebuds the most out of the three pieces we tried. It is improved by the caramel-y base which was slightly harder than the cake itself. Overall the most unique of the three but nothing wow. Kumura fresh cream 3.5/5 The name jus made me crave and I had high hopes. It wasn't as sweet as I imagined, in fact is was not that sweet at all but the taste focused around the super fresh airy cream that slathered between each sponge layer. The cream worked well against the denser sponge and together they mixed into a milky concoction, however if there was less cream the elements would not have worked and the cake would've been to overpowering. Personally it didn't meet the wow threshold but it was a nice treat, a simple neat fresh cream cake. Overall I don't think these cakes are worth the hype, I was planing on getting the strawberry tiramisu full cake, but if the classic fresh cake didn't even wow me, I doubt the tiramisu would be spectacular. The cakes were quite basic, and they're decent don't get me wrong, but they just lacked uniqueness.

We recently stopped by for dessert and thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommend this place. I have fond memories of this place. Definitely worth the five stars. The attention to detail is impressive, the depth of flavour is deliciously intense and the staff were helpful and professional. Only downside was lack of gluten free options.
