“Had the lamb biryani.... Malaysian style. I really enjoyed it and was surprised to see how different it is to the usual biryani found. This biryani is a large lamb shank served on a bed of well seasoned rice. A must try if your hungry.”

“this restaurant has legit Shanghainese home dishes. I've been there twice to taste hometown flavor. The air dried pork belly in the yanduxian soup was excellent, I lingered around the aftertaste after going back home. drinken fish fillet was very competitive to some restaurants in Shanghai. Standing out aroma of rice wine and tender fish fillets got a big attention. And drunken chicken was legit too. The braised pork belly I had last time was out of gate, this is actually a usual dish in most Chinese restaurant. However this place got the unique flavor of east China. Almost every Shanghainese signature dish I tried here can be scored 9-10 out of 10. Staff here were nice but usually crazy busy, so help yourself if you can.”

“My friends and I often go here to study. It's relatively quiet. The volume of the music is very appropriate. The atmosphere is more relaxed than the library. We also chat occasionally. Matcha latte is delicious!!!!”

“Food was hot fresh and service was very fast. Place is kept neat clean and tidy. Waiters are very friendly. Portions were very good sizes. 2 of us shared the southern fried chicken with chips and coleslaw but could not finish the entire thing. Raspberry friand was a top notch dessert.”

“Really happy with our two night stay at the Surrey. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and fresh. Pool kept the kids happy. Food at the pub was delicious! We had a breakfast and a dinner meal, both times with 10 people and the food was hot fresh and delicious. It’s not a super fancy hotel but it was everything we needed for our little Auckland vacation - proximity to the zoo was super helpful too!”

“The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for catching up with friends or getting some work done. The staff are consistently friendly and attentive, and the service is fast without feeling rushed. The coffee is always on point — rich, smooth, and served at just the right temperature. Their cabinet food is fresh and the menu options are delicious. A great local spot that never disappoints.”

“A nice Turkish restaurant just on the corner behind queens street. There is ample seating space for indoor dining as well as some space for outdoor dining while sitting on the street. The menu is pretty large and enough vegetarian options are available in all types of pizzas, Turkish Pide, and sandwiches along with sandwiches. The Shwarmas and Pizza are really good. Staff is really nice and the service was very fast. Parking is a challenge around this area as it is on a busy junction, so you need to park a bit far for street parking or in a parking lot around the city center. Nice Halal place to grab a bit while roaming Auckland city center. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible.”

“Tbh I'm kinda suprised with the low rating?!?. Maybe the owners have changed since those posts because I'll tell ya what, this is hands down top 3 fish n chips I've had in Auckland. Better than the famous one out west. Chips are great,batter is beautiful, me and my work mates come here all the time now. Definitely don't listen to these ratings, they're not up to date with the new food.”

“Love this place. The girls that run it so a wonderful job at keeping up with what can be many customers all wanting something to eat and drink. Tried many things on the menu, loved them all but I'd have to say my favourites were the hot chips, by far the best I've had while travelling NZ and the BLAT Sandwich. Also the Carrot Muffins are divine. The coffee was also a must have for my morning routine. Look forward to coming back in the future.”

“This is my favorite buffet in Auckland. The food is always fresh and they have good options for the kids aswell. My kids love going here. We're usually here at least once a month when we can't decide what to eat and when we're absolutely starving. Great service and great atmosphere. Plenty of parking and seats available also.”
