Had the lamb biryani.... Malaysian style. I really enjoyed it and was surprised to see how different it is to the usual biryani found. This biryani is a large lamb shank served on a bed of well seasoned rice. A must try if your hungry.
Manukau Uncle’s Mans is a real warm comfort! The dadar gulaung was soft, fresh, and perfectly balanced in sweetness. Generous filling is so satisfying. The service was warm and welcoming, and every bite felt like comfort food made with love. Highly recommended!
Stopped by Uncle Man’s in Manukau for lunch and decided to mix things up by ordering a variety of sides to share instead of individual meals. It was a great choice—we got to sample four different dishes, and here’s how they stacked up: - Chicken Dumplings – 10/10 Absolutely fantastic! Juicy, flavourful, and pan-fried to perfection, served with a delicious chili oil. A must-try. - Chicken Satay – 9/10 Tender, beautifully cooked skewered chicken paired with a rich, flavourful peanut sauce. Nearly perfect! - Mix of Veg & Chicken Curry Puffs – 7/10 Tasty filling, but the pastry was a bit dry. A dipping sauce would have made all the difference. - Bergadil – 5/10 These deep-fried mashed potato and chicken patties didn’t quite hit the mark for us. The texture was different—almost soggy—and the chicken flavour was a bit too chicken-y. Probably wouldn’t order again. - Teh Tarik – 10/10 This sweet milk tea was simply amazing—smooth, creamy, and incredibly satisfying. A definite highlight! Overall, it was a delicious and enjoyable lunch, and I can’t wait to return to try even more from their menu!
Came here 3 times during a 5 day stay in Auckland in May for dine in and takeaway. Super impressed with the quality of food and friendliness of staff. Highlights were the roti tissue, roti bom, satay (with ketupat!), nasi lemak, roti canai with chicken curry, kuih dadar, maggi goreng, mee rebus and teh tarik. Never imagined I could find such authentic Malaysian food and atmosphere in NZ. Would make another trip just to eat here again!
The food was good. They have a variety of choices for those who want to share dishes. Price is reasonable for a good portion. Staff was friendly and helpful. Service was fast. They have desserts and tea as well. Recommend to try their tea when dining here. Parking is in the front, easy.
Well with no doubt this is authentic Malaysian cuisine. Large menu with lots of choices however some more GF options would be ideal but hay > i ordered the Seafood Nyonya Curry Laksa, Egg and vermicelli noodles in coconut curry soup, topped with prawn, squid, fish balls, fish cakes, tofu, boiled egg, bean sprouts, spring onion and crispy shallots. These guys really fill ya tummy so possibly eat less before turning up. Plenty of parking and cheerful staff.
