“What a great place to discover. This friendly bar and restaurant about 60 metres from Waiwera beach has the relaxed beach vibe in abundance. Inside there is a restaurant end with about 8 tables, then there is a bar area which opens into a covered outdoor area with pool table and pizza bar with wood fired pizzas. Service was friendly and functional and the business seems to be family run. Food was excellent. Best lamb shank I’ve had in ages with excellent flavours. Prawn salad was also very good. Beer was ice cold and they had a good collection of spirits as well as smoothies and non-alcoholic drinks. I think for me the relaxed atmosphere was what I enjoyed the most - like stepping into some place you’ve known all your life and instantly relaxing. Waiwera town feels a bit run down but the history with the hot pools (now closed) is interesting and it has retained its sleepy charm. If you’re going to Wenderholm consider lunch or dinner at Sugarloaf beach bar.”

“Awesome New Years (Tues/Wed). Started picking up after 1am. Way hot once it chocka block with people. Entertainment fantastic. Miss Ribena - shi the Queen knows how 2 work the crowds. Got told off by a guy who didn't want me 2 buy other bros drinks - except him LOL. Harmless guy though. Seccy ON POINT. If u behave.. U will have an awesome time. $12 most standard drinks - all goods. Awesome 2go if u new. Good people. Great atmosphere. Yep I'm drunk, but had a awesome time. 1st time (that's what she said.. but it probably wasn't.. lol). Yes it can get difficult after 12am, but PREPARE b4 hand n u will have a good time. Miss Ribena and Seccy ain't Jesus. 19 years wasn't it? That's a long time. It's a really good place to hang out after dark . Shame it ain't open 6 days a week, instead of just Fri & Sat nites. Dress is casual. Long ish pants, polo shirt etc. Awesome music. Have a few drinks b4 hand. Get relaxed and have a good time.”

“Had dinner here the other night here indulging in some quality food. Never dissapoints with service everytime I come here. I ordered the king prawns, oysters, brocollini, flounder and eye fillet to share with my mother and we both left satisfied. Great value too if you have accorsplus so you can benefit from the dining discounts.”

“Enjoyed a Saturday lunch with family. Fish and chips were good and the burgers were great. Good wine selection. Very reasonable prices and nice portions as well. The venue setup is basic but comfortable and with lovely harbour views. Service could have been a bit more personable but no complaints.”

“I decided to try The Cut and found their lunch special. The staff was very accommodating with my preferences and allergies, I'm pretty sure the chef checked on me. I told him it was nice to get a cheeseburger with crispy bacon and while the burger was messy it as very good. I also enjoyed the side salad of spinach, cabbage and cucumber that was very good and crunchy. I didn't want potatoes usually served along side and it was a good decision. I was only able to eat half my burger before I had to leave because of my allergies. I enjoyed the other half a couple hours later after it had set and wasn't so messy and the remainder of the burger for dinner. I really enjoyed this burger and can leave Auckland sastified.”

“Bloody great service. Great vibe albeit a bit quiet as we exit our COVID-19 protocols. But that means there's plenty of space and dude on the bar was happy, helpful and onto it. The space is cool. Just for a minute I let myself think I wasn't in NZ. Amy business trying to make it to the other side of Coronavirus is doing their best. I was the first customer in two days... Then a large group walked in behind me. Kudos to small business owners hanging in there.”

“Beautiful views and the staff are very compensating. We walked in with no reservation and luckily it wasn't busy. I'd suggest making a booking before arriving. We only stayed for a pre dinner drink but we will have to go back again to experience the place more.”

“This is a restaurant I’ve loved for many years. Every time I feel like having a beer and mussels, this is the first place that comes to mind. The tap beer is my favorite, and the mussels are always fresh and delicious. I had a great time on Mother’s day here again. Highly recommended!”

“I have had my birthday party here and it was the best place as I don't usually have parties for my birthday, last year November, the bar staff are friendly, they have an awesome Bar Manager Rajat Behl aka Raj. “Perfect 21st birthday venue in many aspects. Firstly, the convenience of parking was exceptional, with a parking lot located just across the road. On Saturdays, it only cost $15 for nearly 8 hours of parking at the downtown street parking, which was just 2 minute walk away. The bar staff were great, providing excellent service throughout the night. The changeable lighting added a nice touch and made the photos look fantastic. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening, and the seating arrangement was just right for our kaumatua (elderly). We had a wonderful time with our laptop connected via HDMI for a photo slide show. Additionally, we were able to play our own music using their iPad, eliminating the need to connect our phones since we didn’t book a dj. Meeting the minimum spend through a cash bar was effortless since we had paid in advance for food, which was absolutely divine and served at perfect intervals throughout the night. The location of the bar was also excellent. Overall, we felt well taken care of and highly recommend this venue for any event.”

“Have been here several times and the food has always been amazing. Authentic Indian cuisine with a wide variety of options - and all vegetarian. Food is always fresh, and the prices are also pretty reasonable. The Indian sweets are on the pricier side though. I had the chole bhature, which was freshly made, the chole had a good spice level and the bhature was fluffy and hot! My favourite! The service itself is just alright and they now have mechanical carts delivering food, so it takes away some personal touches in my opinion.”
