I think it may be newer owners as the food is Indian and Pizza now which seems different to earlier reviews. They were also more than happy to make us a vegan meal. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly – super friendly and attentive throughout the night. Food and drinks were delicious, and the service was fast even though the place was busy. Everyone had a great time, and we’ll definitely be coming back for more events. “Came here for the dinner buffet. For $25, it was very worth it! Food included crumbed fish, pork schnitzel, creamy chicken drumsticks, sausages and lamb ribs. All tasted very homely. The highlight was definitely the pastries! So crispy and warm. We also got the cheaper parking rates from the hotel which was a bonus as weekday city parking is usually pricey. Would highly recommend”

“Wow what an amazing place! First time in the staff Greeted me with a welcoming G'day. Unfortunately I'm gluten free (celiac) However this wasn't a problem as they had a few different opinions. The Kebab came out before I could sit down, To say the service was outstanding is an understatement. My first bite left me wondering if I should get up & order a second (the portion to price was definitely correct) it was absolutely delicious. This little store almost hidden away beat my expectation right out of the ball park, I will promise you one thing I will definitely be returning for more... Kind Regards, One very happy customer”

Tried many things on the menu, loved them all but I'd have to say my favourites were the hot chips, by far the best I've had while travelling NZ and the BLAT Sandwich. Also the Carrot Muffins are divine. The coffee was also a must have for my morning routine. Look forward to coming back in the future.”

“I came tonight with my sister. It was such a lovely experience. I ordered a burger, and my sister got the shrimp. I had ordered the wrong burger, and they were able to correct the issue, with no additional charges. It was quite busy, but we still got our food in a reasonable time frame. The waitstaff are the best, they are very attentive and friendly. I would definitely recommend coming here if you're looking for a spot to eat.”

“Anthology Lounge beneath Cotto on K Rd is the perfect chill out wine and cocktail lounge with the option of live music. Staff is fantastic and attentive and bar itself is brooding, intimately lit with an ambiance of live jazz underground club. The wine selection is fantastic and their cocktails are impressive. Highly recommended!”

“What a great place to discover. This friendly bar and restaurant about 60 metres from Waiwera beach has the relaxed beach vibe in abundance. Inside there is a restaurant end with about 8 tables, then there is a bar area which opens into a covered outdoor area with pool table and pizza bar with wood fired pizzas. Service was friendly and functional and the business seems to be family run. Food was excellent. Best lamb shank I’ve had in ages with excellent flavours. Prawn salad was also very good. Beer was ice cold and they had a good collection of spirits as well as smoothies and non-alcoholic drinks. I think for me the relaxed atmosphere was what I enjoyed the most - like stepping into some place you’ve known all your life and instantly relaxing. Waiwera town feels a bit run down but the history with the hot pools (now closed) is interesting and it has retained its sleepy charm. If you’re going to Wenderholm consider lunch or dinner at Sugarloaf beach bar.”

“Awesome New Years (Tues/Wed). Started picking up after 1am. Way hot once it chocka block with people. Entertainment fantastic. Miss Ribena - shi the Queen knows how 2 work the crowds. Got told off by a guy who didn't want me 2 buy other bros drinks - except him LOL. Harmless guy though. Seccy ON POINT. If u behave.. U will have an awesome time. $12 most standard drinks - all goods. Awesome 2go if u new. Good people. Great atmosphere. Yep I'm drunk, but had a awesome time. 1st time (that's what she said.. but it probably wasn't.. lol). Yes it can get difficult after 12am, but PREPARE b4 hand n u will have a good time. Miss Ribena and Seccy ain't Jesus. 19 years wasn't it? That's a long time. It's a really good place to hang out after dark . Shame it ain't open 6 days a week, instead of just Fri & Sat nites. Dress is casual. Long ish pants, polo shirt etc. Awesome music. Have a few drinks b4 hand. Get relaxed and have a good time.”
