Pizza & Sushi in Auckland

“Wow this is a return visit to this intimate dining venue after a few years. This time I was with my family. The portion sizes are generous. We had three small dishes and three mains with three sides. The small dishes were larger than expected. Pork, prawns and fish tartar all different but delicious. For a main I had the sweet and sour pork belly, this my go to dinner choice and it was mind blowing. I have rarely had a dish that was so perfectly balanced between rich salty pork and the sour sauce, I was in heaven. The duck fried rice and beef curry were rich and flavourful. No one had food envy and there was enough to share, we all loved it. Cocktails were lovely too, high recommended dinner experience. I'll let the photos speak for the cosy intimate atmosphere.”

“This sushi train spot in Westgate is always busy, especially with families and groups - it’s clearly a local favourite. I came here today with my parents, who love this place and already know all the best things to order. We started with the fried chicken nuggets, they were super crispy and a great way to kick things off. Ordering was easy with the QR code on the table. We got a good mix: some fresh salads, a sushi set, a sashimi set, and a big bowl of udon to share. The sashimi was probably the highlight - really fresh, nicely presented, and the pieces were surprisingly generous. We enjoyed every bite. The udon was also a perfect way to wrap up the meal - warm, hearty, and satisfying. The vibe here is really friendly and relaxed. It’s a bit pricier than some other sushi train places, but the quality makes it totally worth it. Definitely recommend if you're looking for solid sushi in West Auckland. + visited again and had a fabulous dinner (added more photos)”

“We love this spot! Very fresh, clean and delicious flavours. The menu is extensive and offers a bit of everything in terms of variety and price. Haven’t had a bad dish here so far. The team are very friendly and warm. The interior is full of Japanese theme with a homely feel. Yaruki for life!”

“We had the most beautiful dinner. We had pizza and seafood crepe for starters. Eye fillet for main and creme brulee and Tiramisu for dessert. Everything was on the spot, fast service and lovely Melanija serving us. True Italian experience with authentic food, wood fire . Big recommendation”

“Went to Gusto Italiano not knowing what to expect which ended up being a great decision last night. Our dinner the seafood spaghetti, chicken breast with vegetables & chicken fettuccine all amazing. The service from Milan & Armando was equally great. Definitely will return and thinking about ordering pizza & lasagne for tonight.”

“This is probably one of my go-to Italian spots in NewMarket. The staff are incredibly friendly and super helpful at recommending dishes to try. The food is always super fresh and flavoursome, and the great atmosphere really adds to the overall experience. The price point is average for the city, but with the quality of the ingredients I would definately say it's good value for money.”

“We had a delightful dinner at Siamese Doll recently. The flavours were amazing, portions were generous, the service was attentive without being overbearing. We had 2 entrees, 4 mains and a round of drinks for $60 a head, which I thought was great value. Great to see a busy restaurant on a Wednesday night! They also dealt with my daughter’s nut allergy seriously and respectfully. We’ll definitely be back again soon!”

“I love this place! Really good food and service. Prices are reasonable, too. There's not really a downside, but if you're seated in the separate booths in the hallway, you lose some of the atmosphere, but if you're looking for some privacy, that's the spot. 5 stars!!”

“Really great pool hall, extremely well priced to play pool, the food is a bit on the pricier side, but it is really high quality and tasty. Had the $31 burger which was never going to be the best value, but it was very nice. Had the ribs last time and the pizza too, all very nice. Some of the best thick cut fries I’ve had. Really great place, a local favourite.”

“A great little find off the main road on Parnell. It was very quiet which was nice for us as a family of 5. Had really generous sized meals packed with lots of flavour. The drinks were nice and cold I enjoyed the passion fruit mojito. Our children loved their meals just a bit large for them. The lunch specials were delicious and very lovely service from the hosts. Reasonable pricing for quality meals.”

“After coming once before, we have come back as a family with higher expectations than the last time. We cannot express the absolute wonderful experience at Katmandu. The beautiful decor around the restaurant adds to the identity of the restaurant and the culture too. This restaurant deserves all the praise that they receive and will receive in the future. “A tiny jewel hides in lovely St Heliers neighborhood. Booking is super easy - online or phone call. Parking is easy as. Quality, freshness and quantity of dishes achieved a great balance. Clean and tidy - toilet too (and not wet). Try and you will keep coming back.”

“The waiters in this restaurant are very polite and made me feel very comfortable when dining in the store. They will ask you carefully if you need more water? Still need some service? It's been a long time since I've tasted such delicious Japanese food. The vegetable tempura is not greasy and the ingredients are chosen just right, so it tastes delicious. The most surprising thing is that I didn’t expect the portion size of KIWI DINNER to be so big, so I think the portion size for two people is just right. A Japanese restaurant that is worth visiting again.”

“Very busy restaurant, we went around 7:30 and it’s nearly full house on a Wednesday night. Food was great and authentic as usual. You have a lot to choose from on their menu. Portion size is great, I won’t say it’s pricey.”

“We will definitely be back! Cold beer and delicious food. The food was so good - Chicken Teriyaki, Chicken Katsu, Fish Katsu, Vegetable Tempura. Loved that the mains came with Miso. Very reasonably priced plus BYO (which is so rare these days). The only negative was the restrooms could do with a bit of a refresh, but you go for the food, not the loos!”

There is street parking and even thought the restaurant is compact it can cater for heaps. You don’t need to book and can just walk in. Take away is also available but Its nice to sit down and soak in the vibe.”

The vegetarian lasagna was amazing and best I have had in Auckland also my husband had the meat lovers pizza which was very good! We finished off with the baklava for dessert which was lovely. “Had a Christmas dinner with work mates last night and it was fabulous. The kai was great, starting with a generous entree and pizza plus generous mains and desserts. We had takeaway containers as we couldn’t finish everything. And the service was excellent, the whole team pitched in - it was a busy night. The restaurant was jam packed but that didn’t seem to phase the waiting team at all. Congratulations on a very busy but wonderful environment, service and kai!”

“Decided to have a late lunch at 9bowls after a bloody hot day at work. I've ordered the Korean Fried Chicken set and it was delicious! The staffs was very attentive and caring, making sure I am well sorted. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very cozy and breathes good vibes.
