   Excellent little restaurant. The staff are wonderful, and the place has a quirky, charming atmosphere. The food is the real stand out here. My fiancé and I have travelled to Japan and enjoyed a lot of food there, and it is great knowing we can enjoy the same flavours and experience right here in New Zealand.

   Finding this little gem so close to dressmart is indeed a wonderful surprise. A truly authentic dining experience. My family arrived for lunch and having travel extensively overseas we feel this restaurant provides a very credible atmosphere and dining experience.    Authentic Japanese food and atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner we even came back again for lunch. We ordered the $42 sashimi set, the fish were all super fresh and great value - shared between three adults and a child. I also recommend the tofu miso soup (so tasty!!!), the chicken cartilage and karaage. Our little one loved the dumplings. Thanks also to the great service, the male waiter was especially entertaining - thanks for the laughs. I wouldn’t recommend the tonkatsu ramen, I think the bamboo shoots give it a funny taste.

   It was my 1st proper Japanese experience. Very cool decor as such. They are very welcoming. Try to reserve if you are planning to go on a weekend. We went for lunch and only the counter seats were available. We ordered beef scotch steak, dumplings,tuna sushi, ramen, mango soda and matcha ice-cream. I really loved the ice cream. As initially we asked for the matcha roll which was not available the lady was kind enough to give us extra toppings for the ice cream. The beef scotch stake was so good that my husband ordered it twice. It was a great experience.

   A warm Japanese style mini bar. Very reasonable price. We had sashimi Dom and mix sashimi plate(cannot remember the name) as starter. The Don is OK, the sashimi on plate is too thin but it is acceptable considering the price. We also ordered Beef Scotch Steak and the lamb with black garlic miso. They were well seasoned and tasted quite good. Both of them are served in good potion. Ended with soy ramen, really feel of Japan. The shop is a bit tight and tables are too close to each other. But it is fine as a mini bar.
