   We were a bit confused because we came with a gift voucher for Musashi - and despite the branding and maps name being the same this is an entirely different restaurant- and not a great one. We decided to stay and try the food but it was overpriced and underwhelming. Dishes were overly sauced, too greasy and indelicate. It was packed and service was slow, seating was far too overcrowded and we decided to leave after our starters. Wouldn’t recommend it. We went instead straight to Sake Bar Icco and had a stunningly gorgeous traditional Japanese meal.

   Food was amazing, prices were fair, good service, atmosphere was a little dull but in fairness it was really bad weather and not many people were in the restaurant so overall it was quite nice, I would definitely be coming back here

   Wow, just Wow! Food was absolutely amazing. The ambiance and service was amazing too. We celebrated my daughter’s birthday and they even turned down the lights to sing happy birthday. We will definitely be back to try some of the other dishes. Thank you for a beautiful night out. Highly recommend.

   Great casual dining. Good food. Good service. Recent visit was also a good experience. Menu format has changed a little. The food is innovative and really good. Update: I do not like to leave negative reviews. A recent dining experience here will be our last. The food was very average and the service was not so good. Failure to clear dishes from our table, and the wait times between courses was excessive. Tonight they missed a main dish on a set menu and we had to pursue the staff twice to get it. When we finally got the main, it was obvious the dish was rushed through. The waiting staff and manager all blamed the kitchen. From my point of view, the floor staff are the kitchen's eyes and ears. The floor staff should have noticed that food is missing.

   Musashi is my favorite Japanese restaurant in West Auckland. I have visited here regularly with my friends and family, and they have always loved the meals. Today was a special day, and my group ordered a significant course menu: the Musashi Set. Both the food and service never disappointed us. I highly recommend it for any special occasions. The restaurant also supports celebrating birthdays. I saw a group whose birthday is today. The service team turned the lights off and encouraged all the guests to sing a birthday song together; it was a fun and joyful moment.

   Really good spot for fresh Japanese food in New Lynn. My partner and I shared the Musashi course menu and got an extra main, which gave us plenty of appetizers to try. Very busy on a Saturday night, recommended to book!
