“Hands down best original milk tea place with pearls. I'm that kind of person who would order original with pearls from all different places to compare bubble teas relatively fairly but I haven't been moving on to other menus because their ones are too good lol. Their base tea is super flavourful which doesn't get lost when mixed with milk. Milk doesn't have weird aftertaste like some places do, and a perfect ratio between tea base and milk. Their pearls are also done in a perfect way everytime. Not too chewy, not too hard, not too soft - chewy enough to have a good amount of biting while it last but doesn't feel hard at all! Also one last thing that I have been impressed with is consistency. It never fails - same best milk tea with pearls every time.”

We first discovered Joe’s Garage in Queenstown and instantly fell in love — the food, the layout, the vibe… everything was perfect. But the real star for us was the pancakes, which our daughter adored. For a whole year she talked about them and couldn’t wait to go back as we were from Auckland. So when we found out there was a Joe’s Garage in Silverdale, we were thrilled — even though we live all the way in Henderson, we were more than happy to make the trip. We finally arrived, excited and ready… only to learn that the famous pancakes are only served before 5pm, and we had arrived at 6:30pm. Our daughter was devastated, and honestly, so were we. But this is where the magic happened. Our wonderful server Tyra (who was also managing that evening) could see how much it meant to our daughter. We politely asked if there was any chance the chef might be able to make an exception. Instead of giving us a flat no, Tyra said, “Let me see what I can do.” She went to speak with the kitchen team, and came back with the most heartwarming news — their chef Hunter was willing to make a fresh batch of pancakes from scratch, just for our daughter. We were genuinely moved. This wasn’t standard service — this was above and beyond. Tyra’s kindness, and Hunter’s willingness to go out of his way, created a moment our family will never forget. Because of this experience, Joe’s Garage will forever have a special place in our hearts. Wherever we see a Joe’s Garage in the world, we’ll be loyal supporters — and our daughter will too. “Love this new addition to Silverdale. The Korean Chicken is lovely and tender. Lots of flavor, with different options of original, spicy, honey/soy, seasoned etc. My wife and I have enjoyed the Chicken every time we have been. I normally get the chips combo with drink and find the chips are always hot and have great taste. My wife loves the Chicken bowl with rice and coleslaw.”

It’s not flashy or overly modern, but it’s practical and clean, with that familiar warehouse-style layout that Pak’nSave is known for. If you’re after low prices without the bells and whistles, it ticks the right boxes. The store is spacious and easy to navigate, even during busier times. Aisles are wide, shelves are usually well-stocked, and signage is clear enough to help you find what you need without wandering too much. The overall vibe is no-frills, but things generally run smoothly and efficiently. Prices are sharp across the board — groceries, meat, produce, and household items all come in at the lower end, especially if you keep an eye out for specials. The fruit and veg section can be a bit hit or miss depending on the day you visit, but most of the time it’s decent. The meat section usually has a good range at affordable prices, and the bakery offers the basics like bread, rolls, and a few sweet treats. Staff are usually around if you need help, but it’s a typical Pak’nSave setup — more of a DIY experience. Most people are just in and out, focused on the shop, so don’t expect high-touch service. That said, checkout lines move fairly quickly and self-service options help if you’re only picking up a few things. The carpark is decent with a fair amount of space, though it can get full during peak shopping times, especially weekends. The location is handy too, close to other shops in the area, so it’s easy to tick off errands in one go. As with other Pak’nSaves, the online listings don’t always match what’s in-store, so it’s best to go in with a flexible list rather than expecting everything to be there. Overall, Pak’nSave Silverdale is a dependable local spot. It’s not fancy, but it’s clean, roomy, and delivers on what really matters — saving money. If you’re in the area and want to stock up without spending too much, it’s worth the stop.”

“I'm so sad about almost people order only chicken. Noodles was so great and perfect. Smoky flavor in soup and meat was so yum. In addition, they were so kind.”

“I though it was going to be a bad American gimmick, turned out to be a really good American gimmick. The pizza bases are good and crispy, pepperoni was my favorite. The sauce on the Buffalo wings was up there with the best I've ever had. Will be back for sure.”

“I have changed over to my prescription meds pickup to Chemist Warehouse Silverdale recently as prices are way better and the stock is 5x larger than regular pharmacies. It is always busy there with plenty of helpful staff often stocking up shelves. Most know where stuff is.”

“During my visit it was after lunch nearly afternoon tea time, not too crowded. Fast service and lovely staff. My query was answered when I ask about wifi password. The place is clean and I highly recommend it , I ordered super chocolate drink boost and it's very creamy. My cravings were satisfied. It has comfortable chairs and sits besides there are available extensions for charging laptop or phones. You can work here in your own laptop or phone while waiting for your order”

“The long waited McDonald’s Silverdale is finally here. First impression; convenient location, plenty of parkings, dine-in and Drive-Thru, double lane Drive Thru, big indoor playground to make the kids busy. The building is still new so it will understandably take time for everything to work out. Staff know what they are doing despite it is in its second day opening. I made a special order to see if they miss anything and they did not. So I give it 10/10 score. I will keep reviewing and update. Thank you McDonalds for opening this branch.”
