“Amazing staff! Such great people. Friendly, knowledgeable, professional and bringing the chill vibes. The range of drinks is outstanding- great pints and they even have our fav; Morning Cider. The building is beautiful - old world solid wood with plenty of intriguing curiosities gracing the walls. There are cozy spots hidden all round the venue so it can feel intimate even when crowded. Decent food - we weren’t big fans of the wings ‘cause we like them classic-style with crispy skin, but we’re from London so we get picky when it comes to fried chicken, these are American Buffalo style as stated on the menu. This is, however, the best pub on the waterfront. We go here whenever we’re doing a shoot in town and the team are brilliant hosts. Thanks guys!”
“I have been wanting to visit this place for a while to have their famous roast and was worth the wait. I also like the atmosphere. Very good bar and a fantastic place to watch sports. Update: Normally I always go for the amazing Sunday roast dinner, but on my last visit I noticed the updated menu and saw they had Gammon, Egg, and Pineapple with hand-cut fries. I haven’t had that in years, and it’s rare to see on a menu these days. The nostalgic taste was absolutely amazing! Highly recommended. I would highly recommend booking in advance for a table in the weekends as this places gets busy and I can see why. Still fantastic service and great staff.”
“Good food, the place is cozy and cute, staff is nice. A little bit pricey but it’s worth it. They have vegan options.”
“Went here for a quiet dinner date. Food was very good. Great size portions and well presented. Staff were friendly and didn't even push us to leave when we stayed 30 minutes past their usual closing time.”
“very attentive Service and Fine food and wine served in a delightful atmosphere at the harbour side. Plenty for meat eaters and seafood lovers, and a delicious gnocchi dish for vegetarians. One of the party of three was having a birthday and got special attention which he loved! (see photos).”
“Wow, Wow, Wow, Wow I am always amazed by the service, Tony (front of house) is absolutely amazing, How do you remember customers names even after weeks!? Definitely feel very appreciated as a customer, Great service is so hard to find anywhere nowadays. The food is also fantastic, Have to try all the great flavour on the menu. Great authentic Italian pizza, Al Volo customer for life A++”
“Ichiban Ramen in Auckland city is hands-down the best ramen spot in town! Their karaage is an absolute must-try, it’s crispy, juicy, and always a highlight. The vibe is cozy yet vibrant, and the staff (shoutout to the Karaage boys!) are super friendly, making every visit a delight. Can’t wait to come back for more!”
“Thank you to the wonderful staff who made this the go-to lunch spot for my grandma and I on our weekly catchups. We appreciate you so much for always being so kind and welcoming to us, having a chat and a laugh each time we came in, and not to mention shaking up the best margaritas. 5 weeks without pay for renovations, you’ve lost some really great people Wishing them them the absolute best with their futures, and we will find a new place to have our weekly lunch and cocktails ”
“Yum, yum, yum! Highly recommend trying out this place. I had the kingfish sashimi, beef pad see yew and popcorn chicken. The kingfish was absolutely beautiful, beef very tender and had a lovely charred flavour, phat noodles too, soo good!”
“Lovely Xinjiang style food in Dominion Rd. Stopped in for lunch and it didn't disappoint. Had me thinking of my time working in China with lovely homemade yoghurt drink and tasty lamb kebabs. Definitely recommend this place, great food and service in a cosy little shop. Decor is simple, but it's the food that counts.”
“I had dinner here tonight and was blown away by the food. Everything was full of flavor and beautifully prepared, but the dumplings stood out as some of the best I’ve ever had – soft, perfectly cooked, and packed with taste. The service was friendly, the atmosphere warm, and the menu offered plenty of authentic options. Highly recommended – a must-visit if you enjoy great Chinese cuisine!”
“We held our wedding at The Garden Shed and couldn't be happier with our experience. The venue was absolutely stunning—perfect for photos—with a magical atmosphere and exceptional food. Khem and his team were fantastic, always ready to help and incredibly attentive throughout the night. Nixon was a true pleasure to work with, ensuring every detail was handled flawlessly. We highly recommend The Garden Shed for any special occasion.”
“I've always loved the cozy atmosphere in Galbraiths with a hand pull ale - makes me feel like I'm back home. Enjoyed a decent fish and chips there the other week too. Other than the beer, maybe the best part is the awesome beer garden. Whilst I saw Galbraiths as a winter pub for years, now it is one of my favourite spots to sit in the garden. Plenty of shade, but also plenty of sun, beautiful plants and a great atmosphere”
“Awesome food and coffee.. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Titirangi!”
“I've had two great meals here with friends over the last year (which is also how often I've been to Auckland over the last year lol), the Mussels are delicious! This time they had a new dessert on the menu, a Banoffee Pie, and it was stand out good!! 100% will order again if I'm back in Auckland. The staff are fantastic, really attentive and good at what they do, they make you feel like family. And they are so careful with dietary restrictions, we have a few coeliacs in our group and with everything on the menu being available as gluten free, they really enjoyed themselves, and the staff double check about the dietary restrictions to ensure no issues.”
“We had a birthday dinner for my mum and the food and drinks were amazing. I had the passionfruit mocktail which was out of this world! Tried a variety of dishes and enjoyed all of them. The pork was succulent, the octopus was soft and delicious. Fish burger and truffle fries with Parmesan to die for. This is a beautiful restaurant atmosphere with excellent food and drink options and would highly recommend”
“Absolutely delicious pasta! This Italian restaurant serves incredibly authentic dishes — the flavours are rich and spot on. The pasta was one of the best I’ve ever had. The environment is lovely, and the background music adds a great vibe to the whole dining experience. Also, the chicken cutlet was huge and perfectly cooked! Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a true taste of Italy.”
“Nice penne Arrabbiata. They don’t have wireless payment facility so bring cash or card, not just phone!”
“Excellent Japanese restaurant set in a traditional ambiance. The restaurant has an A grade by Auckland Council. The food was very tasty and the staff very friendly. There’s also a bar in the Japanese style.”
“The pizza is really good value and quality. The $6 drinks menu is also very good. Would recommend!”
“I choose this venue for celebrating special occasions, and my recent visit with family reaffirmed its excellence. The service was outstanding. the waitresses knew exactly what my parents preferred and were exceptionally friendly. The cuisine, highlighted by dishes like the red curry and both roasted and steamed snapper, was superb. The flamed chicken provided an exciting experience that never grew dull, and its taste was exceptionally satisfying. This visit was as delightful as my previous ones. The combination of exquisite food and impeccable service ensures that my family always has a fantastic time here. I genuinely love this place!”
“The food is delicious and truly reflects the rich flavors of Indian cuisine. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the service is excellent. The restaurant is clean and well-maintained, offering a comfortable dining experience.”
“We were lucky enough to walk in with no reservation and grab a table outside in the sun tonight for dinner. The food was all incredible, so fast and so yummy. All the staff were great, super friendly and helpful! Will definitely be back again ☺️”
“Amazing food. Amazing service. I booked through the “first table app” for something new and different. If it wasn’t for the “first table app” I wouldn’t have discovered this little gem. I wasn’t expecting such delicious food. Very tasty and comforting food. I highly recommend this place to my friends and family. I hope to be back again for the cream brûlée because it was to die for. The only down side is it’s noisy depending on the day you go, parking can be difficult and the bathroom is not maintained properly but other than that the place is perfect.”
“One of the best Japanese restaurants in Auckland! It has such a cozy atmosphere, and the staff are incredibly lovely and friendly. Everything on the menu is delicious, but I highly recommend the sushi rolls and bento boxes:)”
“Great evening Food was delicious & well presented - some exceptional eg whole fish Had cocktails. . Mine was nice, blue! But a little too sweet. Nice decor - colorful, very Thai, & arty. Highly recommended”
“Sal’s Pizza in Mt Eden delivers a truly authentic New York-style pizza experience. From the moment you step in, you're greeted by the comforting aroma of freshly baked dough, sizzling pepperoni, and melted mozzarella. It’s the kind of smell that makes your stomach rumble and your expectations rise — and thankfully, Sal’s lives up to the hype. I ordered two classic slices: pepperoni and cheese. Both were exceptional. The pepperoni slice was perfectly crisp on the edges, with generous layers of spicy pepperoni that curled up slightly as they cooked, just like a real New York slice should. The cheese slice had a rich, gooey stretch and the tomato sauce underneath balanced it out with a slightly tangy bite. The crust was spot on — thin and foldable in the center with a nice chew, but still strong enough to hold the toppings without going soggy. The base had that beautiful light char underneath, giving it that authentic pizza oven flavor. What really blew me away though was the pepperoni wheel. It’s not just a gimmick — it’s a masterpiece. The dough is rolled around layers of pepperoni and cheese, then baked to golden perfection. Every bite gives you the perfect combination of soft, cheesy interior and a slightly crunchy outer layer. It's compact, flavorful, and ideal if you're after something handheld and satisfying.”
“We celebrated our daughter’s birthday party at Raja’s India Restaurant, and it was such a wonderful experience! The food was absolutely delicious, full of authentic Indian flavour, and the service was excellent — friendly, attentive, and professional. All our guests really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. The team made everything smooth and stress-free, which made the celebration even more special. Highly recommend Raja’s India Restaurant for family gatherings, parties, or anyone who loves great Indian food!”
“Glad we acted on the recommended suggestion to try out the truly authentic flavours, friendly service and traditional setting and welcoming ambience that this hidden gem has on offer, neatly tucked off the road from plain sight and true to their name. Experience the discovery of the delightful, delicate lighting, traditional displays and decor, as your arrival meanders through an outdoor / indoor maze-like garden-path through the restaurant into various pockets of dinning location options; either completely under the open sky or under the “rustic” roofing. All the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, service is prompt, courteous and on point. The auroras that drift through the open air will tantalise and explode on your senses, but, guaranteed each mouthful will excite your tastebuds as you enjoy each spoonful, till the very end. We were not disappointed and will most definitely be making a return on our next trip to Ōtāhuhu.”
“Had a very pleasant experience, very welcoming staff. The only nitpick is that butter chicken was too sweet. Chicken tikka masala was great. Really wish they made it less sweet. The kids liked it but I wouldn't have been able to eat it myself”
