   Had a wonderful dining experience at Oyster and Chop. The quality of the food really stood out—fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavor. The oysters were excellent, and the mains were cooked perfectly and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was stylish yet comfortable, making it a great place for both a relaxed meal and a special occasion. Service was attentive, professional, and friendly without being overbearing. Overall, a fantastic experience from start to finish and a place I’d happily return to.

   We had lunch Christmas week. The Whitebait and Oysters starters were amazing. Then we had an angus steak and the market fish with duck fat potatoes. Every dish was tasty and just the right portion. Great wine list as well. There service was very attentive and friendly. Would recommend.

   very attentive Service and Fine food and wine served in a delightful atmosphere at the harbour side. Plenty for meat eaters and seafood lovers, and a delicious gnocchi dish for vegetarians. One of the party of three was having a birthday and got special attention which he loved! (see photos).

   A delightfully delicious restaurant that proudly calls itself a seafood spot — and oh yes, it absolutely delivers. The fish was wonderfully fresh; we savored the grouper with mashed potatoes and cauliflower, and the salmon was pure bliss. Each dish was cooked to perfection, pairing elegantly with a crisp local New Zealand lager. We loved everything — truly! We’re already dreaming about coming back to this place.❤️

   I’m so much in love with the happy hour oyster here. Great deal and surprisingly great quality fresh oyster. Staffs are super friendly. Lovely restaurant with a good view of the harbour. Definitely recommended for a catch up afterwork or catch up with friends.

   First time visit after the hot sauce festival and beelined for their oysters & cocktails happy hour. We were seated in a beautiful space as soon as we got in. The staff were professional and attentive throughout. Beautiful oysters and the happy hour cocktail was nice & refreshing. What a deal! Would highly recommend coming in earlier to get seats for their happy hour.

   We came in during oyster happy hour on Sunday (ends at 6pm). The oysters were fresh and served on a bed of ice keeping it nicely chilled. The salmon tartare was fresh but tasted more like a chopped salad. The snapper goujons were also good. The batter was crispy and thin and the snapper was fresh. Service was friendly.

   We booked a table with a wrong date. Lovely staff is very helpful and arranged a table for us. Food is nice, especially the jumbo tiger prawns and slow braised beef tongue. Yum! Service is professional and prompt. Recommend!

   We had a late lunch here and enjoyed everything about it. Wine list was good. Calamari was prepared differently then used to and was good. The ceviche had all sorts of delicious flavors that had us trying to put a bit of everything on the fork for each bite. Oysters were good enough we ordered more. We ordered natural and partner liked with just lemon while i enjoyed with shallot vinegar that came with. We saw order of fries and had to try them with truffle oil they are good. Dessert was summer fruit and had some great ideas with some dehydrated raspberries and oranges. All the flavors worked well together. Our waitress was a delight and things were efficient and easy.
