Had the jigoku chasyu ramen. Ordered level 2 spiciness which was spicy but not unbreakably so. Decent portion size at a reasonable price. Had plenty of veges and meat which I liked. Food was served quickly and piping hot; free drinking water was provided. A worthy stop if you're craving ramen.

Great Little restaurant with about 10 seats and terrific Ramen! Very much like what’s found in Tokyo. Show is great as Wesley food.

Tiny restaurant along busy Albert Street serving Japanese noodle soups and rice plates. We both ordered ramen soup, one soy based and one miso based. The broth on mine was quite spicy (I had ordered level 3 out of 5 or 6). Both soups were delicious, chock-full with meat, veggies, and spaghetti-style ramen. Don’t forget to order an egg as a topping. The egg was delicious and flavorful. We also had nice gyoza and seaweed salad. Friendly and fast service. Recommended!

Ichiban Ramen in Auckland city is hands-down the best ramen spot in town! Their karaage is an absolute must-try, it’s crispy, juicy, and always a highlight. The vibe is cozy yet vibrant, and the staff (shoutout to the Karaage boys!) are super friendly, making every visit a delight. Can’t wait to come back for more!

Don’t know why this place is reviewed so high! It has charm and we were looking forward to trying the ramen. We ordered 3 (out of 5) for spice level as we like about medium. I think the chef forgot to put any seasoning in expect for pure spice! It was really hot and had no other flavor. The meat was bland and one dish had literally just one small piece of boring chicken. Can’t recommend unfortunately.

This place used to be a hidden gem but appears to be cost cutting as pork chashu has been replaced with chicken breast slices across the menu. I ordered a tonkatsu chashu ramen $22 level 3 spice - much spicer than expected! Broth and noodles were delicious but I was disappointed with the chicken instead of pork. Standard portion size so on the expensive side.

Hidden Gem in Auckland city. We had the take out meals - jigoku ramen noodle, ichiban original curry with rice - chicken and Ajitama eggs and bamboo shoots. All are delicious and enough flavour. Very happy with this small Japanese restaurant. Highly recommended.

We ate at the lunch bar up front which is a little cramped. Soup was tasty but level 3 heat was a bit more than I needed! Egg was extra where I'm used to at least getting a half as standard. Noodles a bit thinner than most ramen I've had. Pork belly isn't in slices and it's more small bits.

Didn't expect to meet such authentic Japanese Ramen in the center of Auckland - both miso based and soy sauce based were very much like what I've had in Tokyo or Osaka, and they were spicier than expected. If you're not used to hot and spicy food, don't try anything higher than level 1.
