Recommend going when it is less busier as the service was top notch on Monday brunch, which was a big contrast to Saturday brunch where we weren't attended to. I think this is reflected in some of the reviews. Today we had Top notch service! They had fire places nearby tables which made it nice and warm on a chilly morning. Food portions were huge and we left feeling very satisfied! I would say one of the top brunch spots in Auckland CBD!”

We first discovered Joe’s Garage in Queenstown and instantly fell in love — the food, the layout, the vibe… everything was perfect. But the real star for us was the pancakes, which our daughter adored. For a whole year she talked about them and couldn’t wait to go back as we were from Auckland. So when we found out there was a Joe’s Garage in Silverdale, we were thrilled — even though we live all the way in Henderson, we were more than happy to make the trip. We finally arrived, excited and ready… only to learn that the famous pancakes are only served before 5pm, and we had arrived at 6:30pm. Our daughter was devastated, and honestly, so were we. But this is where the magic happened. Our wonderful server Tyra (who was also managing that evening) could see how much it meant to our daughter. We politely asked if there was any chance the chef might be able to make an exception. Instead of giving us a flat no, Tyra said, “Let me see what I can do.” She went to speak with the kitchen team, and came back with the most heartwarming news — their chef Hunter was willing to make a fresh batch of pancakes from scratch, just for our daughter. We were genuinely moved. This wasn’t standard service — this was above and beyond. Tyra’s kindness, and Hunter’s willingness to go out of his way, created a moment our family will never forget. Because of this experience, Joe’s Garage will forever have a special place in our hearts. Wherever we see a Joe’s Garage in the world, we’ll be loyal supporters — and our daughter will too. “Located in a basement, with a few large long tables. Lovely Thai food. Music is a little loud, but able to have conversations. Recommend Papaya salad, tom yum soup.”

“The best Malaysian-style fish fillet curry laksa I have ever had. My friend dines here often and he highly recommended I try their food, it was my first time. Our conversation was cut short once the food arrived, there was no time to talk but eat and enjoy every mouthful as my taste buds were having a party! Inside the cafe it's rather small and intimate, I counted 20 seats available inside, they have tables outside but it's too cold to be dining outdoors in autumn and winter is just around the corner. It wouldn't be ideal if you were after a space to have private and confidential conversations because nearby tables and customers can hear you. The staff are friendly, polite and helpful and I will be back for more curry laksa. Thank you for a delicious, mouth-watering experience.”

“went in today to grab some lunch with my parents, their food was absolutely delicious. We ordered dahi puri, potato vada, gujrati thali and pav bhaji. Every single dish we ordered was made with such care and the taste was impeccable, I would highly recommend getting the pav bhaji as it was definitely a highlight. Every dish arrived on our table within 10 minutes and it was all hot and straight from the kitchen. The atmosphere of the restaurant truly felt like home. The service provided by the staff was excellent. Will definitely be going again sometime soon !”

“Great little Irish Pub tucked away down a side alley in Newmarket. It was the perfect stop for a restful lunch and drink after shopping up a storm at the Newmarket mall. Great, friendly service. Meals were fantastic and reasonably priced. We enjoyed steak and the special of the day Beef Thai Salad. Will definitely stop in again!”

“We had a wonderful dining experience. The place seemed more like a bar at first, but the food truly amazed me. The focaccia was soft and airy, and the steak was juicy and fresh. Everything was full of flavor, and I especially loved the salad and the paper corn sauce! The manager kindly agreed to let us sit outside and even turned on the cool fire heater, although it did take a bit of time to warm up in the freezing winter! We loved the experience and will definitely come back to dine at this place again.”

“Remember the good ole days where on a Friday, you'll pick up fish and chips from your local takeaway shop? This is one of those places. Run by a lovely Asian couple, we came around in the evenings after braving 40 minutes of traffic to get their fish and chips. From the looks of it, they maybe sell fresh fish during the day but the metal and glass cabinets were empty come the evening. Menus are printed and handwritten in chalk on the wall. From the looks of it, they're usually busy out back cooking so when you come in, tap the old school bell on the counter top and the gentleman comes out to serve you pretty quickly. There is an old dilapidated couch in the waiting area, reminiscent of one of those couches that you would crash on your friend's place while hanging out or after a night of booze. And also the quintessential picture/diagram of different fish hanging on the wall. Food was pretty darn good, although our bad for the long drive home and the chips becoming a bit soggy. Batter was seasoned well (along with the fish), was not overly battered, and the fish was cooked well and flaked when broken apart. Chips were also seasoned nicely, not dumped on with salt and you could taste the potatoes through it. Good place, wish it was a bit closer so I could call it my local!”

“I recently visited this Mayas restaurant and was blown away by how authentic and flavorful the food was. Every dish tasted like it was made with real care, traditional spices, and genuine Indian cooking techniques. The aromas, the presentation, and the flavours all reminded me of home. “This Thai restaurant is right near my home, and I can't believe I had never tried it before! I decided to give it a shot over the weekend and was surprised to find it quite busy. I ordered a **Prawn Nasi Goreng**—the portion was huge, and the rice was packed tightly into the bowl. It was super fragrant! I also got the **Crispy Pork Belly**—the pieces were large, and the sauce mixed with the fried rice was incredibly delicious. Finally, I ordered a snack: **Satay Skewers**—chicken skewers coated in rich satay peanut sauce, absolutely amazing! The restaurant even offers a **keto menu**, so it's great for those on a diet or into fitness. I'll definitely be going back again!”

“Had such a lovely experience dining here. If you’re craving classic Taiwanese dishes, this is the best by far, in Akl. The stinky tofu was similar to the night market offerings in TW. Other classics we tried were beef noodle soup, 3 cup chicken, pork braised noodles etc. Delicious! Service is great too. Will be coming back again!”

“Look. If you want to feel looked after and have a good feed come here. The staff are excellent and the food is delicious, second time being here and it’s still as good as the first time. I came back the second time because I knew that this place would be outstanding. I made good memories here with friends. Not gonna lie, this will be the worst part about leaving NZ. So if you come to Auckland and don’t want delicious food and a relaxing atmosphere to have a few pints in, aswell as be treated so bloody well by the staff. Go somewhere else.”

“Ok wow. First of all, ring ahead and place your order if you’re hungry or in a hurry. We just randomly called in while visiting the beach on a spontaneous trip from south Auckland and waited almost half an hour for our order, but it was a busy Saturday night and we weren’t in a hurry. There’s a reason so many people buy from there, the food is epic! Tasty, fresh, packaged nicely….and for what we got, it’s a good deal! We could order half as much next time and still feed the family. We got two chook burgers, a lusty, wedges and a kids hotdog meal. Could have split the chook burger between two, it’s a whopper. I had to remove half my filling to eat it and still couldn’t finish it. Highly recommend! Also their kids meals are a good deal for the price.”

“Our dinner at Mumbaiwala was lovely. Great atmosphere and the food was delicious. The only reason that I gave 4 stars and not 5 for food was because they made my friends curry hot when she wanted mild, and my curry was mild when I wanted hot. We switched dishes as they were very busy! Our bill for 4 with alcohol was $292 but was $198 after our discount. Awesome. We had appetizer's and mains and everything was delicious! Highly recommend.”
