“Discovered this gem while in AKL on business, staying at the Heartland Airport Hotel. 5 min walk (free off street parking available side of cafe) extensive menu, clean & tidy. Everything made in-house except the pies. I ordered from the cabinet “to go” a large savoury scone, raspberry lamington, low carb vege frittata with side salad & coffee. Covered lunch & dinner all for $25! Tasty food, good coffee, all staff welcoming & delightful service from Morris - will return on my next business trip.”

“Today, we stopped by Mitre 10 Takanini and were pleased to find Columbus Coffee inside. They offer a great selection of cabinet food and menu items, but sometimes, it's just about enjoying a delicious drink. Given the warm weather, I opted for a Belgian Iced Chocolate — it was refreshing and exactly what I needed on a hot, humid day. We also had a double-shot flat white, which was smooth and satisfying. The café has plenty of seating, both indoors and in the Mitre 10 Garden Centre, which offers a lovely outdoor setup. For families, there's a little playground and even some colouring activities to keep the kids entertained. The service was friendly, efficient, and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. Overall, Columbus Coffee in Takanini is a clean, inviting spot with great drinks, food, and service — definitely worth a visit if you are in the area!”

“I ordered from this bakery a while back on uber. They were not very good so I didn't order again until very recently. They have to have new bakers or owners because the food quality has changed dramatically for the better. Classic bakery food done really well for a great price. Has become a new favourite of mine. I always judge a bakery by the quality of their custard slice and this is one of the few that make a real, proper one. Highly recommend.”

“I come here almost every morning. Great food and coffee, nice staff, kind and helpful. Pet friendly. I must say recently this Month an elder man had an episode (seizure, heart attack, I don’t know exactly what it was) and dropped all the tableware. The staff quickly gave him space and supported him. They cleaned it up the place, called the ambulance and the owner/ manager kept the old man’s company talking to him and calming him until the ambulance arrived. It’s not only a business but a great place with incredible human beings.”

“As a tourist passing through, my partner and I made a quick stop at Gloria Jean's Southgate on our way to Hamilton. I had a takeaway salmon quiche and enjoyed some freshly baked muffins on-site. The coffee was exceptional—rich, smooth, and perfectly brewed. What truly stood out was the outstanding service. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and efficient, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. Our food arrived promptly, which we really appreciated as we were quite hungry. Overall, it was a delightful stop with great food, excellent coffee, and warm hospitality.”

“Have ordered twice now Big Breakfast on UBER EATS and I demolished it because it was so fresh, and still hot when arrived. My coffee was hot. Had to leave a review regarding my Uber Eats orders I've made and how 10/10 they were everytime. Delicious sausages and the garlic mushroom so full of flavour. “Yesterday I went to The Coffee Club on Victoria Street and tried their all-berries milkshake. It was super fresh, really tasty, and honestly so refreshing. The customer service was great too, the guy taking the order was friendly and smiling the whole time. Really nice place overall.”

“Great place to grab coffee and a filling breakfast! It’s a few mins walk from the Handerson station and right next to the Waitākere Central Library. The atmosphere is relaxing, food is good, and customer service is excellent. I’ve only tried their egg benedict but their food menus also include taco, burger, croissant, sandwiches, etc. Bubble tea also look promising, will have to come back to try. The bacon is a bit too salty for my personal preference but it isn’t bad. Location, atmosphere, customer services, and reasonable price make this a 5/5 experience.”

Their coffee is consistently delicious, and the cakes are just amazing — fresh, flavorful, and a perfect match with a cup of coffee. As a student, I really appreciate the discount they offer, which makes it even more enjoyable. The service is superb, the staff are always friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The atmosphere in the cafe is wonderful too - calm, cozy, and relaxing, making it a perfect spot to study, catch up with friends, or just unwind. “Me and my fiance always come here quite often because of how delicious and amusing their food is! Their service is quick, straight to the point and top notch, I must say that one of their staff by the name of Zahraa has been an amazing team member and has shown her speedy and outstanding mind service, she is really what this establishment is all about! As for the establishment itself, it is clean and tidy and has many decent friendly customers who do interact with each other without causing any scene or problems. Overall, thanks for the decent food, service and to Zahraa for making it even better! I do apologize for not adding the remainder of the food we had but you must try!!!”
