I used to love this pub but it's gone down loads. The first time in months I'd been here and I was harassed by two strangers one wanted money off me and this yucky man tried to grab my headphones off my head and when I told him to back off he became abusive it was just horrible
It's never too crowded.staff are helpful & pleasant. A genuine local with no frills or bulldust.
Literally across the road is an amazing bar experience with better surroundings and service. This place needs a thorough cleaning starting with the floor surface.
How does this place even stay open. If you are an old man and just want to drink in a depressing environment with little conversation, absorbing your drink and the bitter loneliness of life, then head on down. As a "sports bar" the screens are horrible and the atmosphere is severely lacking. The Butcher and Brewer or Speights Ale House are far better options in my opinion. However, if those places are packed out and you really need to catch the game, you can always head here. The bar is so empty, that you are almost guaranteed to get a seat.
