So I walked in to Wendy's on a mission - I needed a specific colour of dress for a wedding that I was attending in 4 hours time. The staff went straight to work on the assignment, and I had 2 perfect options within 15 minutes. There was also a great range of Kiwi and Australian designers at fair prices. “My partner brought my engagement ring in to be resized. It needed to go down 5 sizes, which is apparently a lot. While some of the major jewellers acted like this was too big of an ask, saying it would take weeks to be sent away and see if it's possible to go down that many sizes, Mayo Jewellers were happy to do it for us without fuss. My partner dropped the ring off at around 10am, and it was ready to be picked up by 4. The jeweller done a fantastic job, there's no way to tell its been altered. And they charged an incredibly reasonable price too!! We are over the moon happy and will have no hesitation in recommending Mayo jewellers and using them again in the future. Thank you so much!!”

“Absolutely adore this hidden gem and try to pop over from Whakatāne every few months. It's a treasure trove of secondhand books, spanking all genres. The owner has incredible knowledge and can help you find anything. Make sure you take an antihistamine (dusty for obvious reasons) and have a coffee before you arrive, as once you're here, you could easily spend hours perusing the shelves.”
