The food was absolutely incredible, beautifully presented, full of flavor, and enjoyed by everyone at our table. What truly set the evening apart was the service. The staff were attentive, warm, and professional, and we were especially impressed by one of the waiters who was able to kōrero mai with us. That added touch of cultural connection made the experience even more memorable. I’ve already recommended Katsura to at least five people, and I’ll continue to do so. “It's been nearly 2 years since we have been back. We thought we were at the wrong place as it looks like new owners not too sure. Anyway I ordered the steak and creamy mushroom plate. Looking at the other reviews on here for this same meal I must have been lucky as I enjoyed my meal, I had no complaints portions were massive the Mac was creamy and the chips was more then a scoop of chips you get at your local. Steak was done as requested (well done) not dry but juicy and not chewy. Worth the drive coming from out west as we do thank you!”

“Came here for the dinner buffet. For $25, it was very worth it! Food included crumbed fish, pork schnitzel, creamy chicken drumsticks, sausages and lamb ribs. All tasted very homely. The highlight was definitely the pastries! So crispy and warm. We also got the cheaper parking rates from the hotel which was a bonus as weekday city parking is usually pricey. Would highly recommend”

“Have been here several times for lunch and dinner. The restaurant was pleasantly decorated. Sitting was comfortable. Service was good but you need to be able to speak Mandarin too. Otherwise just look at the menu and point to the dishes you want to order. It's not an obstruction for you to visit this place for a meal. The food was good. Service was friendly. All of us liked all the dishes that we have ordered. Will definitely going back for another meal.”

“Had the lamb biryani.... Malaysian style. I really enjoyed it and was surprised to see how different it is to the usual biryani found. This biryani is a large lamb shank served on a bed of well seasoned rice. A must try if your hungry.”

“this restaurant has legit Shanghainese home dishes. I've been there twice to taste hometown flavor. The air dried pork belly in the yanduxian soup was excellent, I lingered around the aftertaste after going back home. drinken fish fillet was very competitive to some restaurants in Shanghai. Standing out aroma of rice wine and tender fish fillets got a big attention. And drunken chicken was legit too. The braised pork belly I had last time was out of gate, this is actually a usual dish in most Chinese restaurant. However this place got the unique flavor of east China. Almost every Shanghainese signature dish I tried here can be scored 9-10 out of 10. Staff here were nice but usually crazy busy, so help yourself if you can.”
