“Pricing is unbelievable for what you get - generous portions and very tasty! Dishes are well prepared and they have set specials to choose from. Many asian styled dishes and standard takeaway items to choose from. This place is a must try for those cold nights where you don’t feel like cooking or just want some comfort food without it being too greasy and heavy. You’ll also receive some free wontons too over a certain dollar spend!”
“Great lunch here! Awesome environment Highly recommend Will be back for sure”
“My husband and and I loved the big fish and yummy chips also. We felt it was well worth the money.”
“The most authentic Chinese spicy hotpot. We ordered combined dishes to have more varieties... 10/10 taste and service. Chilli oil broth and the golden fish broth are the mist try!!!”
“"Rainy days are simply perfect with a plate of sizzling stir-fried noodles and the sautéed preserved pork slice with hot chilli pepper! The combination is absolutely heavenly - the chewy noodles soak up all the delicious flavors, while the savory cured meats add that special umami kick. Every bite warms you up from the inside out, making it the ultimate comfort food for gloomy weather. 10/10 would recommend this amazing pairing to chase away the rainy day blues!"”
“The taste of foods was just amazing. Stunningly balanced flavours. Perfectly cooked. Descent sized portions. We had to wait a bit longer than what we were expecting to get our order ready in a busy Saturday night but it was worth it. Music playback was not a perfect match with the ambient but still okay. Friendly staff. Definitely will come back.”
“We had a delightful dinner at Siamese Doll recently. The flavours were amazing, portions were generous, the service was attentive without being overbearing. We had 2 entrees, 4 mains and a round of drinks for $60 a head, which I thought was great value. Great to see a busy restaurant on a Wednesday night! They also dealt with my daughter’s nut allergy seriously and respectfully. We’ll definitely be back again soon!”
“Okay just get two dishes. Samsun jjajjangmyun (seafood version of the black bean noodle) and chapsal tangsooyook (fried pork with sweet and sour source but the chapsal (sticky rice) version . We got the smaller size this day. These are our go to. We have tried some of the other dishes but these two are worth it!”
“Perhaps my most favorite meal during out trip to New Zealand, so good we had to make a special drive back before our flight home to eat here again. The Yang Rou Pao Mo is delicious comfort food, the hand pulled noodles are fantastic. All the sides - wonderful. The folks who run the restaurant - delightful. It's not very often I run into restaurants specializing in Xi'an or Shaanxi style foods, so this one was a wonderful surprise to happen across in Auckland. Thanks for the wonderful dinners!”
“Took my kids here and was impressed with the quality of the dumplings and pork buns. You get less (10 I think)than usual but the dumplings are bigger and have a lot more flavour than usually offered elsewhere. The pork buns were great too - not too much dough and lots of filling.”
“I had a lot of memories here. I miss that happy time. Enjoy the food and the atmosphere.”
“Been the go to as long as I can remember good prices yummy food lots of it can't go wrong with sun ma”
“Lovely restaurant with authentic food (according to the chinese person that had lunch with me). The Noodles and Beef was great and the Cured Port and Tofu was fantastic. Definitively worth a visit. Some spicy choices also.”
“You can't make an assumption based on the Google review. We went to this takeaway place and tried the food. It's good. It's worth the price for sure. Roast and Twice cooked pork are always my favorite orders. Not a fan of fried chicken. BTW, sry Cruise, like your smile. Again, you can't make a judgment just by the review. Go there, try it, love or hate, your choice.”
“Chicken fried rice with chicken fry….awesome combo and yummy taste.. staff are very friendly..”
“Veggie chow mein is off its head. Delicious. 5 stars”
“Me and my family been coming here since I was a little girl, also worked here part time during my high school years. I love the food and love the owners - They are genuinely kind and caring people, really cares about the food (and their customers) and its integrity. We still get takeaways from here after 20 years!”
“The braised chicken feet here are really delicious. They taste different from those in many other places and are definitely worth recommending.”
“The food was absolutely delicious! Every dish was bursting with flavor, and the presentation was beautiful. I loved the ambiance of the restaurant, and the staff were friendly, welcoming, polite, and professional, making us feel right at home. Thank you!”
“Enjoyed my quick lunch here with a wonton bbq noodle soup. The soup is so good, with the noodle in it, excellent match. The meat in the wonton can be better.”
Palsun Howick keeps things pan‑Asian comfort and focused on flavour. Portions are generous yet well judged. The team keeps things friendly and organised. Noodles arrive glossy and well seasoned. A sen...
“Alright fish and chips, combination fried rice was 5 stars, very friendly lady. Would recommend.”
“Best Beef Randang in Wellington. Noodle soup is also great. Sambal is tangy and hot. Really great.”
“A nice calm place with decent service and delicious food at a reasonable rate. Was the best orange beef I have ever had. Thanks!”
“Best Seafood Laksa I've had in Wellington and in my life. It was so good that I'm jumping on google to give it a review because more people should experience this Laksa. 10/10”
“Surprisingly good! 10/10 Stir fry Beef Rice Noodles is the benchmark of any Cantonese restaurant, this one done well. Beef was tender and flavor, rice noodles were stirred perfectly, one of the best I had in NZ. Another meal was beef tenderloin noodle soup, also great, beef chunks were chewy and juicy, generous portion. Homemade hot chili paste is a hidden gem, with minced beef mixture. Great value for the money, satisfied.”
“KC has been around for a very long time and rarely closes. Their food is always consistent and they serve up till quite late in the night. Menu is extensive and you’ll often end up wanting to replace your initial choice as there’s too many to choose from! My favourite is the black pepper pork chop and deep fried squid (which you need to eat while it’s hot). The place is often packed so be ready to do takeaways or hang around till one is available. Toilets are at the back however do be careful as the floor might be a tad slippery.”
“The best Malaysian restaurant I've been to in NZ - easily beats the ones in Auckland. The restaurant was full when we arrived. We had to wait a few minutes but the staff kept us updated and cleared a table quickly for us. The portion sizes were big. We enjoyed the delicious dishes which reminded us of the authentic food we had when we travelled to Malaysia. We'll definitely return the next time we're back in Wellington!”
“Good service, kind & reasonable prices. Definitely the best in wainuiomata I've had. Recommended to my family”
“Great local fish and chip shop, with great value for money - particularly with the "special packs". Always lovely people. Aside from the special packs, also solidly rate the "super burger" :) Great "fish and chip shop"-style burger which is very solid. Many thanks from us :) Keep being awesome”
