“Writing this review from heaven cause I died and came here right after eating the braised beef soup and the steamed soupy buns. everything about this meal was pure bliss. my friend and I had smiles the entire time. it made my day having such a great meal in such a great place for such a great price. all the stars.”

“Wow this is a return visit to this intimate dining venue after a few years. This time I was with my family. The portion sizes are generous. We had three small dishes and three mains with three sides. The small dishes were larger than expected. Pork, prawns and fish tartar all different but delicious. For a main I had the sweet and sour pork belly, this my go to dinner choice and it was mind blowing. I have rarely had a dish that was so perfectly balanced between rich salty pork and the sour sauce, I was in heaven. The duck fried rice and beef curry were rich and flavourful. No one had food envy and there was enough to share, we all loved it. Cocktails were lovely too, high recommended dinner experience. I'll let the photos speak for the cosy intimate atmosphere.”

“This place never dissapoints, we drive from Mairangi Bay to get standard takeaways here. Burgers and Toasties are great. They have THE BEST chips. Their wontons are delicous too. Have tried a couple chinese dishes and they didn't disappoint either. The owners/staff are really nice too. Definitely worth the drive.”

“The taste of foods was just amazing. Stunningly balanced flavours. Perfectly cooked. Descent sized portions. We had to wait a bit longer than what we were expecting to get our order ready in a busy Saturday night but it was worth it. Music playback was not a perfect match with the ambient but still okay. “We had a delightful dinner at Siamese Doll recently. The flavours were amazing, portions were generous, the service was attentive without being overbearing. We had 2 entrees, 4 mains and a round of drinks for $60 a head, which I thought was great value. Great to see a busy restaurant on a Wednesday night! They also dealt with my daughter’s nut allergy seriously and respectfully. We’ll definitely be back again soon!”

“Surprisingly good! 10/10 Stir fry Beef Rice Noodles is the benchmark of any Cantonese restaurant, this one done well. Beef was tender and flavor, rice noodles were stirred perfectly, one of the best I had in NZ. Another meal was beef tenderloin noodle soup, also great, beef chunks were chewy and juicy, generous portion. Homemade hot chili paste is a hidden gem, with minced beef mixture. Great value for the money, satisfied.”

“KC has been around for a very long time and rarely closes. Their food is always consistent and they serve up till quite late in the night. Menu is extensive and you’ll often end up wanting to replace your initial choice as there’s too many to choose from! My favourite is the black pepper pork chop and deep fried squid (which you need to eat while it’s hot). The place is often packed so be ready to do takeaways or hang around till one is available. Toilets are at the back however do be careful as the floor might be a tad slippery.”

“The best Malaysian restaurant I've been to in NZ - easily beats the ones in Auckland. The restaurant was full when we arrived. We had to wait a few minutes but the staff kept us updated and cleared a table quickly for us. The portion sizes were big. We enjoyed the delicious dishes which reminded us of the authentic food we had when we travelled to Malaysia. We'll definitely return the next time we're back in Wellington!”

“Came here tonight, have been before but not recently. Service was fantastic, the waitress was very helpful and attentive. I have an egg allergy and they were very accommodating and helpful. Food was fantastic, we got 2 starters and 3 mains between us (3) and they were all very tasty. Atmosphere was nice, pretty quiet with it being a Tuesday. Highly recommend you come here and we will be back.”

“11/10 dim sum spot. Everything was delicious and fresh. Quick, polite service. Weekends have fresh baked pork and custard buns. Very reasonably priced. Menu has pictures and color coded pricing for each set of items ranging from $5.90 to $9.90 with the odd higher priced dish like the Peking duck. Wish I had more room to try more things. We will definitely be back.”

“As I walked past, I noticed my 2 mates eating in here. I pulled up and went in. Bar had a nice friendly atmosphere and a nice layout with an authentic feel. I order the pork belly hotpot and it was top both. Was so hot(heat) that I felt it had been in a nuclear reactor for a short time but once it had cooled down I could enjoy the full flavours of the dish. The pork belly was delicious and the soup was great too. Plenty of noodles and other well cooked veg. 100% will eat here again. Extremely well priced dishes for the portion sizes. . Highly recommended.”
