We dine at Young Shing almost every week. The food is absolutely delicious. The service is prompt and friendly and the staff are very courteous. We never go past the Chilli Oil Dumplings as a starter and have almost tried the entire menu. I would recommend this restaurant for all to try. Lunchtime specials are an excellent deal also.
The duck dish was quite good. However, the fried rice was disappointing โ it wasnโt crispy at all. It was too soft, oily, and greasy. Iโve tried Yangzhou fried rice at many other restaurants, and I think this one was the least satisfying version Iโve had. The rice was soaked in oil and didnโt have the usual texture. The service was not good. At first, they brought out a starter (dim sum) for us, but didnโt provide any bowls or anything to pour the dipping sauce into. Another downside is that the food took a very long time to be served.
Best Seafood Laksa I've had in Wellington and in my life. It was so good that I'm jumping on google to give it a review because more people should experience this Laksa. 10/10
Small litte restaurant, but don't be fooled, the food here packs a punch in all sorts of flavors, catering to small and slightly larger groups. Absolutely delicious Asian cuisine. Give it a try.

Really tasty food, worth trying if you're nearby. The fried rice was done really well and had a clean non-greasy taste. The garlic stir fried veges were super tasty. The squid was cooked well, but had some mala numbing pepper which is not to my tastes. We couldn't decide on what to have so got way too much and had lots of leftovers.
The taste of the old Young Shing is back!! The fried chicken is just as crispy and delicious as it was 10 years ago. The fried rice has a nice depth of flavour and the portions are huge. For $13.50 at lunch, this is a superb deal! I advise everyone who loved the old Young Shing prior to the renovation to come back as everything is back to normal taste wise. (I know when it reopened about 4 years ago it wasn't so good haha)

I ordered the "spicy" eggplant on rice. It wasn't exactly the flavours I know the dish to be but nonetheless it was a good dish. The rice had the aroma of jasmine cooked the way I am used to in Chinese restaurants. The value was great. It was only $13 for lunch and they give you a fair amount of food. They did NOT cheap out by putting in lots fuller cheap vegetables like onions and carrots like some places do. Ingredients were fresh. My only recommendation is to cut the eggplant in long strips like carrot sticks instead of slicing diagonally. So it "melts" in your mouth. The place is clean and service was friendly. Couldn't ask for more. I look forward to trying a few other dishes to see if it holds up.
