“First time here and came after seeing the reviews. It absolutely didn't disappoint. Went for the seafood tartare to start which was really beautifully flavoured with hints of corriander and so fresh. Then went for one of the Wagyu scotch options. Had it medium rare upon recommendation from our lovely waitress. It was possibly one of the most beautifully flavoured tender pieces of steak ever. Both of us went for the same steak. If I come again I'll probably go for a few more side orders, went for the creamed spinach which was lovely. Will definitely return! Highly recommend and I am very fussy!”

“I went to a team lunch, and it turned out to be pretty nice. I had a delicious cheeseburger and it seems like a fun spot to catch a game—you can really feel the energy there. The staff were super friendly, and the place was clean. Getting a table was easy, though it can get a bit busy in the evenings.”

“Reservation made for a birthday lunch on a Saturday around 30 people. Staff very helpful especially Jordan who could not do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble. “Breakfast here is genuinely excellent. It’s at the top-end price-wise but the quality is superb and the portions generous. I had the ‘big’ breakfast (mixed grill I think it was called?) and my fellow diner had the caponata and raved about it. I wish I photographed them before we started…. The service was also excellent. “I love The Patriot, it’s easily my second-favourite spot to enjoy a cold, refreshing beverage on a sunny afternoon. (First place goes to my lounge when the All Blacks are on.) I’m a proud regular, usually popping in once or twice a week to take advantage of a good 2 for 1 deal and some great food. But for the love of all things holy, please don’t change the rib sauce. I’m not sure if it was just tonight and my taste buds were having an identity crisis, but something tasted different. Those ribs are usually perfection and I frequently advertise them as the best ribs on the shore, so if there’s been a tweak to that glorious sauce, I’m begging you, bring it back!”

“The Paw Bar and Eatery is a fantastic place to come with family/friends/a date or even on your own! The twinkling lights with all the beautiful plants make you feel like you are in a tropical resort. The staff are an absolute gem- super friendly and quick! There is a lot of space to sit outdoor or indoors. They have great events such as trivia and live music. I hosted a staff party there and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food and drinks. The doggy menu is also obviously a huge plus and they always have many board games. Sizzling skewers are now a new highlight, which you cannot find anywhere else in the hood! I highly recommend swinging by. Cheers!”

“Place of good food with nice environment and one side lake. There are hips of car parking. There entrance are very wheelchair and strollers friendly. They have lots of entrance and entry options. This is the great place for buffet or party or conference with staying in there hotels. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. They just cleaned the tables within seconds. You don’t worry about used plates. All staffs are very responsive. They will give you super first for your services.”

“Great atmosphere. Food is really delicious. The only reason for 4 stars is that the steak was a little bit over cooked, but luckily still pink. The stuffed chicken was fantastic, the peppercorn sauce the star of the show! Friendly staff and prompt service. Great restaurant with good variety. Today, I couldn't fault anything. And the 2 girls that served us were SO amazing!! It felt like home! Thank you so much!”

“We stumbled upon a cool little bar slightly off Courtenay Place in Wellington and ended up having such a fun night. We were drawn in because we heard some really good filler songs playing—these were the tracks they had on between the karaoke performances. We went in around 9 o’clock when karaoke was already going, and within an hour or two the place really came to life. It was such an amazing vibe with great music, a fun crowd, and plenty of energy. Definitely a memorable night out that happened by chance and turned into something awesome.”

“We had our wedding reception here and it was AMAZING! The functions manager, Chyanne has been amazing during the early planning, to figuring out the last minute details. They been very accommodating for guests who had dietary/allergies, and the staff that night were fantastic for making sure our reception was amazing! The hotel's fantastic location made exploring the city a breeze. ​From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the beautiful atmosphere and the genuinely friendly, professional staff—especially Ray and Anthony, who were absolutely amazing. ​The food was just as impressive. The weekend high tea was an exceptional experience, with every tea and accompanying food item delicious and the service impeccable. ​Breakfast was a definite highlight. While the buffet was decent, the à la carte menu was sleek and memorable—I'm still dreaming about the egg benedict and the delicious mushroom dish. ​Dinner was just as stunning, thanks to a fantastic salmon dish and the breathtaking night waterfront view. As a seafood lover who usually avoids raw oysters, I was amazed by the one I stole from my friend—it was incredibly fresh, and the vinaigrette was a perfect touch. ​And the experience didn't stop there. The room was spacious and tidy, and I absolutely loved the bathtub. ​I was also pleasantly surprised by the value. Despite ordering a lot to try everything, I didn't find the prices horribly expensive.
