“Gorgeous spot tucked on the top end of town. I can honestly the best sushi I’ve had in New Zealand and even rivalling tastes from my travels to Japan. Pricing was well and truly fair for the quality and the staff there were so joyful. Can’t wait to come back ❤️”

“Not only is the food at Sake Nippon Bar delicious, but the portion sizes are ideal. We ate a range of dishes, but my personal favourite was the chicken katsu. The chicken was fresh, flavourful and crunchy. The service is excellent. Food is served promptly. The atmosphere is conducive to conversation. However, on other occasions, it has been quite loud.”

This is easily one of my favorites—there is a perfect blend of restaurant food and a home cooked meal vibe, all in a reasonable price. We eat here regularly and it is the highlight of the work week. “I was here Friday 19 April with a group of 12 from West Wave. The food was fantastic. I had the best pizza in about 20 years! Also a great atmosphere and lovely staff. I forgot to take the photo of the ice-cream after I had eaten ⅔ of it already.”

We were served by a super friendly lady, who seems to really care about this place and giving people a great experience. The food was outstanding. Huge portions! “Just moved to the area and have visited this roast shop two nights in a row now.. best roast shop in Auckland easily in my personal opinion. the way the lady was cutting the fine selected meats had me in a daze while waiting in line and delivered with flavour when devoured. “Dropped in for the $10 lunch. It was simple, but very tasty and exceptional value - rice, omelet, choice of a vegetable dish. Really good value for money. I don't know many places where you can feed yourself for $10 for lunch. Cute interior design. Lots of space for groups of all sizes and people dining alone. A bunch of people turned up after us, so looks popular. The menu looks great, will come back another time to try it.”

“Wanted pizza and never had been here before and glad we did. Ordered a half half margarita and New Yorker pizza. Seasoning and sauce is flavourful. Not too salty. Could do with more base sauce as it was a little dry but could easily fix with extra sauce option. The dietary options of cheese and gluten free bases is better than I expected. Vegan cheese options. I liked the multiple options of flavours which covered traditional and gourmet flavours. Didn’t get a milkshake but I will next time I get a pizza there.”

“My partner went to this shop to pick up sandwiches for our holiday brunch, and it turned out to be such a unique place. It reminded me of my previous trip to Japan, with its cute interior design and cozy atmosphere bringing back fond memories. We ordered a Pork Katsu sandwich and a Daishi Eggplant and Mushroom sandwich. The katsu was impressively large and, although it cost around $15, the size was more than satisfying. It tasted great too. The eggplant sandwich was also delicious. I never imagined eggplant would pair so well with sandwich bread, but it was a fantastic idea. This place truly stands out, and I highly recommend it.”

They had multiple vegan pizza options, and multiple kebab/iskender options too! I got a vegan chicken kebab with vegan aioli, it was bloody lovely! We started with the cocktail shrimp, which came in a generous portion and was absolutely delicious. The salad was fresh and vibrant, complemented by a unique and flavourful special ingredient sauce that really set it apart. For the main course, I had the steak, and it was everything I hoped for—tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked, with a rich and savory mushroom sauce. The service was excellent, and despite the restaurant being busy, we only had to wait around 20 minutes for our food. The staff here are always so friendly, with a smile on their faces, making us feel right at home. Plus, there’s plenty of parking out front, which makes everything even more convenient. We’ll definitely be back again soon!”

“This sushi train spot in Westgate is always busy, especially with families and groups - it’s clearly a local favourite. I came here today with my parents, who love this place and already know all the best things to order. We started with the fried chicken nuggets, they were super crispy and a great way to kick things off. Ordering was easy with the QR code on the table. We got a good mix: some fresh salads, a sushi set, a sashimi set, and a big bowl of udon to share. The sashimi was probably the highlight - really fresh, nicely presented, and the pieces were surprisingly generous. We enjoyed every bite. The udon was also a perfect way to wrap up the meal - warm, hearty, and satisfying. The vibe here is really friendly and relaxed. It’s a bit pricier than some other sushi train places, but the quality makes it totally worth it. Definitely recommend if you're looking for solid sushi in West Auckland. + visited again and had a fabulous dinner (added more photos)”
