“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Family-Friendly Gem in Birkenhead! We had lunch yesterday at Burrito House Birkenhead, and it was such a great experience! The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, generous portions, and full of authentic Mexican flavours. We tried the tacos, nachos, burrito, and sides — everything was tasty and beautifully presented. What I really loved was how kids-friendly the place is. The staff were welcoming and patient, and the relaxed atmosphere made it easy to enjoy our meal while the little ones felt comfortable. Highly recommend this spot for families or anyone craving good Mexican food in a cosy, welcoming setting!!”

“The Lebanese Grocer is home to the best chicken shawarma I have ever tried, outstanding! Not just the shawarma but the hummus and labneh that we got to take home is unbelievable. “Delicious!! I tried the lemongrass beef banh mi and iced coffee. The sandwich was tasty with a good amount of beef, crisp veggies, and fresh bread. I asked for spicy, and it had a great kick to it! “- Crispy pork belly banh mi 9.1/10 I added an extra $1 to have crispy pork belly, and it made the banh mi so much better. This place alway been consistent with their food, and always have the right balance of Veges and meat. Score would be higher if they add more coriander. - ROTI with crispy pork belly 8.7/10. Their roti always damn good, basic by itself, but done very well. - Grilled pork spring rolls 8.3/10 Another strip of pork would be a lot better. However, these are so good with the dipping sauce in the container they add. It is very fresh and delicious. Must try, solid and affordable vietnamese cuisine.”

“Beautiful restaurant, the smell of charcoal and the Spanish music makes you feel like you’re in South America. Food is amazing. The beef short ribs just melted in your month, juicy and tender. Fish had good portion and the sauce was lovely. Fried breads were hot and chewy, the tangy sauce was a great accompaniment. We ordered cabbage and broccolini as sides. Both were delicious and worked well with the main dishes. The only dish that wasn’t my cup of tea was the dessert, the burnt merengue was rich, sweet and too creamy. I felt like it lacked other textures. But overall, loved our first visit and would definitely go back to try other dishes.”

“What a delightful little find, rung the mobile number to order pick up since it’s always faster (and cheaper) than Uber eats. We got the vege udon noodles, Katsu chicken yaki soba and sweet and spicy karaage chicken and everything was toasty hot and delicious. The udon noodles took me straight back to Japan! We ordered on a Friday night and the woman on the phone accurately set expectations of a 20 minute wait. All in all a great experience and we will def be returning!”

“Really nice cooked breakfast. It took a little while to arrive but that was because it was cooked from scratch with care and attention. The quality of the food and ingredients was really good. The place itself is pretty bare and basic, but also spotlessly clean. The owner was happy for me to move a table outside next time I go so I can bring my dog along. I went to the Columbus Cafe up the road the weekend before and was really disappointed with a similar breakfast. If your looking for a nice breakfast and good coffee from a friendly host go here. Especially go here over Columbus.”

“14 years in business is a testament to their quality. Delicious snapper plate chips cooked perfectly crispy shell soft inside had snapper crumbed and deep fried the eggs sunny side up phoned ahead before pick up definitely best fish and chips in NZ and I’m very fussy”

“I came to PHC after receiving numerous recommendations. We tried their OG burger and Chicken on waffles, and i gotta say, it was simply amazing! The food was filled with flavour, that you could taste in every bite. They also have spice levels depending on your tolerance. For the burger, I tried their most severe spice level - 'Holy Cluck'. Wheww!, it was super spicy but really delicious. Next time, I would go one step down on the spice level so i can better enjoy the taste. We ordered the Chicken on Waffles in the 'Hot' variant, which was perfect. You could enjoy the fried chicken with the right amount of spice. It also came with a special sauce on the side which was sweet & spicy at the same time. For dessert we got the Peach and Blackberry Cobbler. I have never had a cobbler before , so I wanted to try it. The dish was hot and came with vanilla ice cream. The crust was superb and overall great if you enjoy cobblers. Personally, I'll be trying a new desert next time. I'll definitely be visiting again. :)”
