    Jellicoe Public Park

    ★★★★☆ 4.5
    Open

“Very nice and large park in the busy Onehunga area. The flora are well maintained and the walkways are nicely curated. The location is easily accessible and ample parking is available on the streets. Public toilets are available and are nicely maintained. A large sized fountain is also installed in here. A decent sized children's play area is there, which attracts a lot of kids. Proximity to the Onehunga pools is an added advantage. Well recommended.”

    Open

“Blockhouse Bay Beach Reserve, located in Auckland's Blockhouse Bay suburb, is a charming spot offering a blend of natural beauty and recreational amenities. The reserve features a small beach with soft sand, making it suitable for swimming, picnicking, and leisurely walks along the shore. Families will appreciate the well-maintained playground, providing a safe and enjoyable area for children. The surrounding greenery, complete with picnic tables and benches, offers a serene environment for relaxation. Facilities such as public toilets and outdoor showers are available for visitor convenience. However, parking can be limited during peak times, so arriving early is advisable. “A great start to walking. Medium fitness required. Some steps and roughly a 20min walk. Around 2km. Lots of native birds, watch out for the falling seeds. Wood pigeon and Tui’s dog friendly. Suitable for a family. Kids under 5 should be closely supervised as there are some steep drops and no rails. Beautiful on a sunny morning. Make sure you clean your shoes on the way in and coming out.”
